Intrepid (Main)

Art Deco Steampunk Train built for an upcoming V&A Steamworks book project. Engine is mostly 7-wide, tender and observation car 8-wide.

 

“…The Intrepid was the personal locomotive of the Archduke Franz Ferdinand of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. It was especially designed to undertake long journeys to the furthest reaches of the rugged frontiers. The prominent prow of the land-yacht was designed to withstand huge impacts and brush aside anything, or anyone, foolish enough to block its path. At the other end of the train, past the walk-through tender, was the luxurious observation car. This is where the archduke would ride in the finest comforts available, and would entertain those fortunate enough to travel with him…”
