"Marker 11 - Room 90: THe previous interpretation at Marker 11 provided that the pueblo was two stories high along the back row of rooms. The upper story was used either for milling or corn storage. During the Secondary Occupation, there appears to have been a localized fire and the roof was not repoaired. Interpretative scenarios however do change. While evaluationg the first photographic documentation of the site a discrepancy was found between what was seen in the photograph and the earlier hypothetical reconstruction presented to the public: remnants of a third story were visible. Although none of the third story section remains today, the photo and existing architecture were compared to find that there was indeed a third story to the Pueblo. It is unknown if this third story ever completely spanned the back wall of the structure (the northermost row of rooms). In any case, after a fire burned the roof of Room 90, the room was turned into both a trash repository and a burial site." ~ museum display/exhibit, Salmon Ruins, Bloomfield, New Mexico.
