Met no.1 - Front/Side
This is my lego model of Metropolitan Railway Loco no. 1. It is an E-class - and the prototype of this engine is the only member of the class to be preserved.
My model is 7-studs wide, and uses BBB medium size wheels for the drivers. The main body is made in Dark Red bricks, and the yellow lines round the boiler are made from rubber pulleys/belts. Finally the motor bogie is mounted on a turntable at it's end, allowing the loco to negotiate curves and points.
The model has already been displayed at the LTM's Acton Depot, but I'm hoping I'll get the opportunity to take it to Bucks railway center, where the real one is!
