this was the night of the strike vote. the hospital I work at we have been in contract negotiations for over 14 months. I believed at first management was waiting for the election, to get over, and if Romney and Ryan had won we would have been watching our union get dismantled, bit by bit. Thankfully that didn't happen.
Management that has no problem spending money on fines, due to poor patient care, which is so related to poor staffing, It would be nice if they could spend those million of dollars on staffing. They continues to try to portray us as greedy wanting more money, when truthfully we want more staffing. I've been a nurse for 29 years, I'm at the top of that pay ladder, as many of us are. So my pay is fine. It would be lovely to have more staff, and not play hurry up and catch up with the patients I take care of. I'd like to continue to be a real nurse, not the skin milk version of one.
