Definition of bizarre

Found this near the back door. It was still alive while I photographed it but has suffered a fair bit of damage to its antenae and body. I have never seen anything like this before. It was about 20mm long, 6 legs, hard shell body like a bettle. No wings apparent.

Check out those two large claws at the end of its front legs.
