Focus stacking experiment

Focus stacking.. sounds easy just take a few shots with different focus points and stack them alltogether! Or so I thought. It is not as easy as it sounds. It is not that hard to focus on the nearest point but it gets harder as you move through to the back of the object, you have to keep track of what the last point of focus was. I think it would be easier with a macro focusing rail.

Here I missed focusing on the leaf at the back left of the picture. I took about 50 shots, of various flowers, trying to get the focus down pat. There are some artifacts in this shot. I think that small web was moving about in the breeze. (I did not notice any breeze tho) . I am determined not to give up tho.

This is just a small weed in the garden. Those 'fruit' are 1.7mm across. This is 12 shots stacked with CombinedZM.
