Wet Eagle
This very wet bald eagle was photographed in rural Osceola County near Kenansviulle, Florida.. Just before this shot was taken he dove in the water for a fish, but came up empty. It seemed to me that he had gone deeper in the water, and stayed longer, than most eagles I've seen. Indeed he struggled to get back in the air. Here he is about 40 feet from landing on a perch where he spent 45 minutes to an hour drying himself out. Once dry he took off effortlessly and headed back in the direction of his nest.
