It's mine now.

I don't know much about the Zelda anthology and as of today, I've only gotten into Majora's Mask. I had hardly scratched the surface of that title, barely acquiring the Ocarina from Skull-kid. So what am I doing with this thing? This Toon Link. The one from the Windwaker game. I went ahead and picked it up just to have it ...and I thought it looked neat. I thought it looked better than the much older-looking Link counterpart. I was recently informed that this thing will be compatible with the Smash Brothers 3DS title. How do these Amiibos work? Beats me.... I had never used one. I suppose that I'll just find out when my good buddies in Ohio sends me my copy of the Smash Bros. game.

All that I know about these Amiibos as of this moment are that "they ARE NOT necessarily something that you buy to enhance your gaming experience. The purpose of the Amiibos are to buy them and to resell them during an increase of artificial demand."

You can TRY to pre order one of the exclusive figures from their exclusive vendors, but it turns out that the underproduction of some of these figures always lead to the same Nintendo-outcome... they sell out of pre orders.

How does one sell out of pre orders?

The whole point of a pre order is to provide a vendor with a down payment on a specified, unreleased product. After some time, the vendor will accumulate an approximated quantity of how much of the product they are going to sell. This pre order count becomes an extension for the manufacturer, offering them an exact idea of how many of that item they must produce in order to fulfill the pre orders.... and maybe they would provide the exclusive vendors with some extras for their shelves. Of course in some events, not all pre orders can be fulfilled on the given release date; however, the pre orders would be fulfilled at a later date (A.K.A. Back Order). STILL, they would be fulfilled. Yet somehow, these exclusive vendors sell out and are unable to accept any new pre orders.

There are some people in this world (such as myself), that don't put too much effort, or compelled to spend a funk-load of money as a means to collect these little things. I really don't think it's worth the effort... that is unless you're one of those people who are intent on selling them as sets for the big bucks. Good luck to those of you.

Shulk, which is a Xenoblade character, will be distributed exclusively by Babbages... er... I mean, GameStop. Unfortunately for most people, they are unable to accept anymore pre orders. Considering my half-assed efforts at finding one and my lacking-willingness to travel a great distance to pick one up, from the looks of things, I may never acquire that figure. But who knows? Maybe I will. Maybe I'll find one on my desk at work... The figure isn't really a priority for me. I do want Xenoblade for my 3DS though... even though I know I may never finish the game.
