Sin had attacked our boat. After facing off against the creature (in its gigantic fin form), Tidus is swept off from the bow of the ship and is taken under water. Wakka bravely dives off to rescue Tidus. Upon Tidus's revival, the two must face off against what appears to be jellyfish/man of war. After the battle, a tidal wave / gust of wind takes out a small seaside community called Kilika. Indeed a saddening scene as people become victims to the destruction.

 

Here's a screen cap of the summoner, Yuna helping the deceased move on to the next world. The scene was fantastically done. Very emotionally charged.

 

Once again, still sort of lost in all the mumbo jumbo, but I can appreciate the aesthetics in the presentation of it all. These cut scenes are quite phenomenal.
