NATO

N.orth A.tlantic T.reaty O.rganization

Established April 4th 1949 NATO generally consisted of more northern nations, both eastern and western. But as time wore on the eastern, more European half had begun to politically dominate the organization. More specifically the United Kingdom, constantly working to defend it's allies the United Kingdom quickly became the spear point of NATO, seeing as the United States wasn't necessarily with the organization any longer European opinion, ideas and concerns had begun to dominate NATO, thus the United States shrunk into the shadows and the United Kingdom was thrust into the lime-light.

But as the new leading nation of NATO emerged as did other issues that resulted in many countries leaving the organization, currently NATO is only a faction of what it once was. But the United Kingdom and those countries that've stayed in the organization are determined to restore NATO to it's once glorious state. The countries still in NATO are consist of The United Kingdom, The United States of America France, Germany and Iceland.

<u<Weapons commonly used by NATO include:

M4-A1/AR-15: Pending upon location and country acting on behalf of NATO.

MP5/P90: Typical sub-mashine gun.

Atchisson Assault Shotgun 12 (AA12): Typical NATO simi and or fully automatic shot-gun

M23/M23SOCOM: Typical NATO side arm.

M110 SASS: Common NATO medium caliber, anti-infantry sniper rifle system.

Barrett M107: Restricted for anti-armor offensive or defensive combat. Or long range sniping, more commonly used by special forces sniping teams like the SAS or GIGN because of the small amount of rifles given to countries in NATO by the United States of America.

M249 SAW: Commonly used by support class NATO troops. Unlike the M107 the M249 was and is still a bit more commonly used and is more heavily supplied by the United States of America.
