601. WHN 411G: United - on hire to South Yorkshire PTE (no. 1938) + 114. EWB 114C: South Yorkshire PTE

Originally ordered by Bristol Omnibus, United 601 is a series 1 Bristol VRT/SL6G with Eastern Coach Works bodywork, new in 1969. Withdrawn from service in 1980, it was refurbished by APT at Bracebridge Heath before being hired to SYPTE (where it was allocated fleet no. 1938) for several months in 1981. It subsequently spent a few months with Lincolnshire Road Car before passing to Crosville. However, it was not used and was transferred to South Wales Transport (no. 897, later 902) in 1982. Withdrawn in 1986, it was acquired by Silcox, Pembroke Dock, where it ran until 1997. It has subsequently been acquired for preservation.
Next to it, SYPTE 114 is a Daimler Fleetline CRG6LX with Park Royal bodywork, new to Sheffield Transport in 1965.
