Part of A Letter From Mom's Dad September 24, 1974

I am listening to the Kaleidoscope program on "I remember radio". This is a review of the radio programs your grandfather listened to when he was a young man. When I was a boy television was unheard of! Our first radio was battery operated with an outside aerial. You had three dials to turn to tune in a station. The hour was of the goose neck type! It was a "Day For" radio! We did not watch "Death Valley Days", we listened.
