Praying Mantis at Our Padron Pepper Plant

On the morning of Labor Day, we spotted a brown praying mantis at our garden. I was hoping to get an even closer shot than this but he flew away right after this. Too bad, but the first time to see this beautiful insect at our garden.

Shot with a classic Nikon Nikkor 105mm F/4.0 AI-S Manual Focus Lens. I love this generation of Nikkor lenses because they are from the generation of the lenses my grandfather used to love. The optics is great, of course it's not as easy as auto-focus lenses but I am getting a hung of it, and colors are splendid.
