I have no idea what the flower is, but it was near the Zoro Garden, which is a bit of a butterfly hotspot. There were even a lot of butterflies there during October.

This is a male vermillion flycatcher. Probably my favorite flycatcher with its bright red breast and Zoro mask. This guy was rather cooperative. At first he was in a jumble of branches, so I asked him, would you please fly to an isolated branch, with a clean bokeh behind and then face the rising sun? And he did just as I asked. I must be a flycatcher whisperer! 😉 Female version if the first comment for comparison. She's adorable but not as flashy as the male.

Lots of them in my feed, I know, but they're one of the few birds that actually pose as opposed to maybe letting me snap a quick shot from 15 meters before they fly off
Our friend NomadicLass sent us Zoro's moo cards and we love them soo! Thank you Malinda :) Slinky has been asking when he's going to get his own moo cards, I think he's a little jealous... :) But I told him that I'll order some for him after the holidays :)

For about eight years, Dutch artist Zoro Feigl has been experimenting with the movements of a flock of birds. How could he turn those beautiful choreographies in the air into art?
Especially for the Stedelijk Museum Schiedam NL, this experimenting led to Murmuration, a huge installation, moving up and down on the ceiling. When you look up, it looks like a flock of birds is flying over your head.

Echo consists of 4 rings that can move each in 360 degrees of freedom. While one ring is motorized the others react to the slightest disbalance to create a complex set of movements.
ECHO is made for the new building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (BZ), the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment (IenM), the Immigration and Naturalization Service (IND) and the Central Agency for the Reception of Asylum Seekers (COA) designed by OMA Architects.
Echo is 24h a day visible from the Turfmarkt, right next to Central Station, in The Hague and looks especially good in the afternoon sun.
