One of the greatest attractions in Africa and one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the world, Victoria Falls is located in Victoria Falls National Park on the Zambezi River. The Zambezi River is the fourth largest river in Africa, it also defines the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe.

Victoria Falls is the only waterfall in the world with a length of more than a kilometre and a height of more than hundred metres. It is considered to be the largest fall in the world.

The noise of Victoria Falls can be heard from a distance of 40 kilometers, while the spray and mist from the falling water is rising to a height of over 400 meters and can be seen from a distance of 50 kilometers. Small wonder that the local tribes used to call the waterfall Mosi-ao-Tunya “The smoke that thunders”.

Rarely am I in awe, but today's breathtaking views of Victoria Falls left me in complete amazement. This trip was foiled by COVID in 2021, so it is beyond-gratifying to finally visit this Natural Wonder of the World.

We finally made it to Africa! These little monkeys were all around our little island room.

View over Mutare, Zimbabwe’s fourth largest city, from Christmas Pass. Located just kilometres from the Mozambican border, Mutare is the largest city in Manicaland and the heart of the country’s Eastern Highlands, with their cool, damp, climate and lush green landscapes.

I think this is the most Zimbabwe landscape shot I have ever taken. It just looks like this, especially in Mashonaland - the light, the rocks, the trees, the hills.

This shot was taken at Domboshava, near where the rock paintings are.

The granite hills of Domboshava, 30 kilometres north of Harare and a popular spot for a day trip from the city.

The name Domboshava is derived from the Shona words dombo meaning “rock” and shava meaning “light brown”. The hill is a National Monument of Zimbabwe.
