I've been absent from Flickr for quite a while... since I've purchased Starcraft 2, and have been busy slaying Zerg :P
I shot this with the iPhone and processed it with the Best Camera App
14th build in my Iron Builder round against Josiah, using the Hand Large Minifigure left and right part in bright green.
This build was inspired by Cecilie Fritzvold's beautiful rendition of the Zerg Queen.

at that moment (6.13 a.m.) village is already teeming with life - for the past 20 minutes I've already had to juggle around a wedding photoshoot in front of me (way beyond those "private, don't cross" fences) while somewhere above me herds of festively clad young females feverishly run around trying to find "that spot where you have to take photos" (and this means: insta-selfies). things will get really hairy in an hour, beyond which point there will be a true zerg rush to all "don't climb" roofs of the village
at the moment oia is still somehow enjoyable, but it's time to head back and sleep out the 2 hour wake at dawn :)

Been a while since I built anything Starcraft, but apparently I still have some unfinished business with that game, so here is my take on a Zerg Queen!
Built for the Space Jam 2021 horror category.
2020 Bio-Cup
While I don’t normally Barnacle, i figured if I did, I might as well build some Starcraft. Broodwar was one of my absolute favorite games from back in the day. You call down the thunder? Now reap the whirlwind.
So I give you Sarah Kerrigan: Former Confederate GHOST, Now the Zerg Queen of Blades.
When I see the future, I see this.
Interestingly enough, in doing my research for this build, I learned where Kerrigan got her name. Apparently they decided to name her Kerrigan, to counter Tanya, a protagonist from the Command and Conquer series. At that time, Blizzard’s chief competitors.
I was going through piles of old photos, when I found out that this build has never seen daylight on Flickr ever since it was built 2 years ago.
This was a collab build with Dai Yuan as a fun project during the holidays. As many of you can tell, the concept of the model is heavily inspired by INDUSTRIAL DESIGNS' amazing WEGENER excavator . We were impressed by its sheer size and level of detail at the same time, that we decided to study its mechanical details, as a means to practice our greebling skills! We definitely had a lot of fun during the building :-D
The story for the model is a tank-like, mobile scientific station on an alien planet full of zergs. The scientists on the station have captured their overlord, and is now trying to exploit its biological value. However, from nowhere comes a troop of scavengers, and they have locked their eyes on the overlord as well...

The airock closed with a hiss as the pumps sealed them in. The place was a mess, and what should have been a bustling thoroughfare was deathly quiet, save for the creaking and hissing of ravaged ducting. Exhaust gasses slowly seeped into the thin atmosphere. Chambers tried to look confident as Bucco's searchlight scanned ahead, shadows leaping from the pipework, tracing out their slender shapes against their own bulky forms. Neither marine could remember the engineers ordering an extra manhole.
The motion detector blinked ominously as a cold sweat trickled down thier backs. Whatever had decided to redecorate... had to come play.

La Table de Jugurtha demeure un impressionnant site historique du gouvernorat du Kef en Tunisie. Il représente un immense plateau étendu sur 80 hectares et s’élevant à une altitude de 1200 mètres. D’office, vous convenez qu’il s’agit d’un endroit parfait pour nous surveillé pendant ses années de guerre.
La Table de Jugurtha remains an impressive historical site in the governorate of Kef in Tunisia. It represents a huge plateau spread over 80 hectares and rising to an altitude of 1200 meters. You will immediately agree that this is a perfect place for us to be watched during its war years.
Le méchoui algérien: un mouton rôti sur les braises d’un feu de bois. Le méchoui vient du mot arabe maghrébin « ch’wa »
qui signifie rôtir.
Le méchoui est une spécialité algérienne originaire des hauts plateaux, du Moyen Atlas et de l’Atlas saharien. Les nomades qui y transhument, en plus de leur troupeau principal – souvent évalué à plusieurs milliers de moutons – élèvent un petit nombre d’agneaux mâles spécifiquement pour le méchoui, les nourrissant de « chih », une espèce d’armoise sauvage qui donne à l’agneau un parfum très délicat.
L’agneau est embroché sur une branche d’arbre et mis à cuire à côté d’un tas de braise. La broche est tournée lentement et régulièrement afin d’assurer une cuisson égale de tout l’agneau. On ne met pas le méchoui directement au-dessus de la braise car la graisse, en fondant, s’enflammerait et pourrait carboniser la peau. Il est important de démarrer la cuisson tout doucement, de sorte que l’intérieur du méchoui cuise presque en même temps que l’extérieur. Pendant la cuisson, on badigeonne la peau de beurre fondu, de manière à la rendre croustillante — la marque d’un méchoui réussi. Au fur et à mesure, on rapproche l’agneau de la braise afin que la peau prenne une couleur ambrée.

This is the Zerg Hydralisk from the game Starcraft 2. I wanted to build this for a while but didn't think it was possible. The Infestor, Xenomorph, and Gyarados I made showed me the techniques necessary for this.
I still have a few more pieces coming in to finish this off. I'll post more poses and angles when they do (and after Christmas).
I really like building Zerg now. I have a Zergling coming up next. Mutalisk, Ultralisk, and Broodlord are also very possible.

Once my daughter received these toys for Christmas, I already had this shot in mind. Still raining in So. cal & instead of going out trying to shoot in the rain, I decided to execute this shot with my 2 favorite Pixar characters. Buzz & Woody, respectively on their laptops. Fun Facts:
The display is roughly 14 feet long. About 5 more feet than our original plans.
It took a whole day to set up this entire display.
There are far too many parts to count, but the landscape itself, collapsed down, takes up two 1.5 cubic foot boxes.
Not all our builders could make it to Chicago - so contributions were shipped in from San Francisco and as far as Belgium.
The smallest units were always the hardest to design.
The Humble Marine had the most number of design changes over 3 years.

A szorosban végigrohanó Békás folyó völgyét általában 100 és 350 méter között váltakozó sziklafalak határolják. A kapubástya oldalán, azaz a Békás vizének földrajzi bal oldalán látható a Tündérkert, hullámos rétegvonalakkal felszabdalt meredek letörés. A zergéknek ez a kedvenc tartózkodási helye. A Tündérkerttel szemben a folyó másik oldalán van a Csíki-Bükk sziklavilágának legjelentősebb mászó útvonala a Sziklakönny útvonal.
Summon the Swarm
"Summon the Swarm and prepare to move to Korhal" The Queen of Blades ordered.
"The Swarm is in disarray and will not answer your call." Izsha replied.
This is a personal remake of the scene in StarCraft 2 when Sarah Kerrigan comes back to the Leviathan to claim her ownership of the Swarm and speaks with Izsha, the Zerg who were made to store all ideas and memories of the Queen.

My complete layout as it exists now, and was displayed at Lego World Copenhagen.
As is apparent here, my Protoss stuff claims the largest area! I didn't add to them this time though, so there will be no new pictures of their base or units.
The layout has 4 bases, the Protoss base, Raynor's Raiders (blue Terran) setting up an expansion base, the Zerg expansion, and the Terran Dominion.

Le lézard vert bleu se caractérise par son corps allongé de 25 à 30 cm de longueur (plus rarement 40 cm) dont une bonne partie composée de la queue qui est deux fois plus longue que son abdomen. Sa tête est légèrement aplatie. Il possède 4 petites pâtes dodues, chacune pourvue de 5 doigts griffus.

I got a new computer and tried using GIMP to edit this like I do in Photoshop. Never again. I'm going to find my old cracked version of Photoshop and use that for the rest of the set.
This is my last creation before Brickworld. Time to pack everything up now.
