Wijk aan Zee is een dorp dat sinds 1936 deel uitmaakt van de nieuwe gemeente Beverwijk, in de streek Midden-Kennemerland[1] in de provincie Noord-Holland. Wijk aan Zee was samen met het dorp Wijk aan Duin, voordat het onder de gemeente Beverwijk viel, onder de naam Wijk aan Zee en Duin een zelfstandige gemeente. Het dorp heeft circa 2200 inwoners. Wijk aan Zee ligt op één weg na ingeklemd tussen het staalbedrijf Tata Steel (het vroegere Hoogovens), de Noordzee en het Noordhollands Duinreservaat

Wijk aan Zee is a village that is part since 1936 of the new municipality of Beverwijk in the region of the Middle Kennemerland [1] in the province of North Holland. Wijk aan Zee was with the village of Wijk aan Duin, before it fell under the municipality of Beverwijk, known as Wijk aan Zee en Duin an independent municipality. The village has around 2200 inhabitants. Wijk aan Zee is one road after wedged between the steel company Corus (formerly Hoogovens), the North Sea and the North Holland Dune Reserve

The Tappan Zee Bridge is one of me and my wife's favorite spots to grab an exercise walk with it's great views and usually a nice breeze as you walk across. Plus unlike the East River bridges in Manhattan which are filled with tourists this bridge never gets the heavy crowds and has bathrooms at each end on top of no unsavory characters or crime issues. On this particular day my wife wanted to walk the whole 3.6 miles while I turned around at around 2 miles to go back and fetch our car, cross the bridge and pick her up.
