A Galaxy patrol craft. Much loved by its crews. With the Dorsal Turret set to automatic it was virtually impossible to shoot down, however there were a few too many cases of friendly fire for the Lego Land Space Authorities to be happy with.

I tinkered with this Y-Wing for so long, it started to feel like it needed a hangar as a proper background.

Since I had received feedback from so many that my Onith-wing reminded them of a Y-wing, I decided to build one out of it. I extended the front forward a bit so that I could add the turret gun behind the cockpit. I also took a less "tacked on the outside" approach to the skeleton structure of the engine nacelles.

All Female Y-Wing Crew.

"Guys... were not gonna make it tonight."

A heavy snowfall surprised them. They were suppose to fly with the Y-wing, but it ain't gonna happen. All they can do is put the block heaters on and cross their fingers for a better tomorrow!

Where I live, snowfalls are sometimes like this. You only see a few meters ahead and that's it. Snow coming from the sky fills your eyes and everything. I've been wanting to try to mimick this heavy snowfall for a long time now, but I've been put off by a way too big plans for it. A few days ago, I've created this simple scene with a simple plan to try to scene out, and yes, it's getting me somewhere!

Based on the unused studio model from A New Hope.

A close-up frame of a Stormtrooper playing with the huge LEGO® Y-Wing Starfighter scale model.

This is a loose continuation to my previous frame titled as The Place You Are Right Now.

I have been wanting to build another Yavin 4 MOC for awhile, especially one with a Y-wing (which is my favorite Star Wars vehicle). I decided to use Jerac's design for a Y-Wing because none of mine were turning nearly as nice as his design. If you haven't go check out Jerac his instructions are on Brickvault's website. I used his initial design then modified it to my liking. I wanted to make the base bigger but I ran out of tan pieces. I had so much fun doing this build and I hope you enjoy!

I walked a miles in this haze with my snowshoes on. It was terrible weather for any kind of outdoor activity, but that's pretty standard in Hoth these days. But there I was with my camera which had pretty poorly charged battery, too.

Albeit the problems I had, I knew somewhere in this area is a ship that needs to be photographed before someone takes it somewhere else. It was a beautiful all-grey workhorse, just waiting in silentce.

Y-Wings based on those captured by the Phoenix Cell, with cowling still on the wings, and a slightly different shape to the rear cockpit.

I based the cylinder part of the engines, and especially the domes, on a MOC by DarthTwoShedsJackson, however I can't find images of it.

The goal of this MOC, like most of mine, was to be as close as minifig scale as possible, with as much detail and accuracy, without having to resort to "illegal" connections, as a resuly, the "head" of the ship lacks its slope, but otherwise I'm quite happy with how it turned out.

X/Y-wing Ugly for FBTB.net contest. It's an Alliance privateer's mount created from a black-market X-wing and a beat-up Y-wing.

The starboard view shows the capitol-ship ion cannon mounted near the cockpit, as well as the orginal Y-wign and X-wing noses.

The Citroën Type H, the latest addition to my garage. No, it’s not a spaceship but I gotta have something to carry all the spare parts for the ships. They don't fit in my old Volvo sedan, you know. That lorry next to the Citroën is an old piece of junk, simply too unreliable. The Citroën just needs a little TLC and it's good to go.

I had no plans to build anything for a while, no desire to sit by the workbench. But for another project I visited our local hobby shop and spotted this Citroën by Heller, it was very cheap too. So I bought it and figured what the hey, I needed a new car to the carage anyway. The ones I had were built LONG ago. I mean, the red Ford barely seen on the right is a model I built in the 1980's.

A simple and fast build, I thought. Heh! I almost succeeded this time, except the kit was very poor in quality and needed some extra work. The parts in the kit had errors like I've never seen before, they were a poor fit and the overall design was just... cheap. Well, cheap, hence the pricetag. I guess it looks fairly accurate though, if not counting the fact that that windshield and the front grille are not from the same year model...

While photographing this I realised once again how much I miss Michael Paul Smith's uploads. It is so sad he is gone.

Experimenting with "it can't be a model" look. Added a pilot for a better sense of scale. Still not there, but getting closer :)

"It's all blur, man!"

"But try to remember the good times we've had..."

"You remember!"

"Do you really want me to pick that model Y-Wing fighter and show how it crashes in to that wall?"

"...no, no, no... don't blackmail me!"

Our beloved Stormtrooper duo have find their first real difficulitites in their lifes. Unfortunately, the economics of the Death Star Health Care system is low, due to their new leader and they've try to cope the situation on their own.

We had great cumulus clouds today. I took a few photos of them on my way home from my office, I have always liked the magnificient cumulus clouds.

There was some thunder showers in the afternoon, before I went home, and I was sure I heard something more than just the claps of thunder hammering the sky. And sure enough...

Summer at its best.

It's been snowing all day long. As I was standing next to the Y-wing, I saw all of a sudden Dutch. I instantly took this shot of him. I guess he was checking the droid or something. They never tell me. It makes my job as a photographer sometimes a bit hard. I wonder how I'm going to get photos of Darth Vader...

And everything is all in-camera.

View on black

I was with my camera in the hangar, where they keep and maintain the Y-Wings. This is a dirty and low-light place, so that the heat radiation does not reveal its location to third parties. One of the starfighters came from the flight, and they quickly dismantled the supporting pylons and exhaust noodle off, so they were able to access the part of an overheated engine.

I do not know whether the hammer is the right tool for this job, but all I can do now is to monitor the situation…

This is one of those photos that didn't succeeded the way I was hoping for, but I'm still showing it as I feel it works presented as in black and white. And yes, the rod you'll see under the Y-Wing is very much visible, it kinda looks cool, in my eyes, and I've felt from the beginning that I won't brush that away. So, what's wrong with the scene? The version I'm hiding from your eyes: the colors you can't see.

I've always wanted to upload this but struggling on those color tones was a bit too much. It didn't looked like the space and all those flares pretty much made the whole scene muddy, plus the lighting... well, maybe I can breath some air on this by uploading this all black and white version today and travel back on it this session some other day. This is a note to myself.

If you'd expected anything from The Force Awakens, too bad! I really felt making some Star Wars Rebel Alliance fighters, since there's a lack of them in the seventh movie. Here are a mini BTL Y-wing starfighter and RZ-1 A-wing interceptor, ready to blast those imperials!

My entry to the Star wars evolved contest on FBTB. originally it was all gray, but after taking pics this morning I decides it needed more color. Cutting it close with this one. XD

Evolved Y-Wing for the FBTB contest.

Another colour-swap based on a paint scheme I saw on a custom model kit.

Last ship of original Rebel Alliance left to be done - ironically, also the oldest. It was a nice smooth build except for the head, and I had quite fun with all the greebled surfaces!

As usual, instructions are available at www.brickvault.toys

Since some years I started different attempts to create y a Yavin IV MOC, something like the never released playset of the Yavin IV temple from LEGO. Inspired by the excellent and lovely Yavin MOC from Hypolite Bricks - Abe Fortier I finally found a building concept to make it to an end. The outer walls are constructed from 5 different types of "large" 6 x 6 x 5 bricks used in different iterations and mirroring / rotations. The same technique is used for the snotted 6 x 6 plates for the front and top sides of these bricks. Other credits go to Brickwright, a modified version of his brilliant minifigure sized Y-Wing suits perfectly. Maybe you like the MOC. I'll build this in real for a local LEGO exposition in my homecountry Luxembourg next summer 2023.

Since the white part "%65617" has been added, I changed it.

I think this color is good. :)

The Sphyrna-class Hammerhead Corvette “Lightmaker” is one of newest additions to my Rebel fleet. I used the Hammerhead corvette from Rogue One as this has been one of my more favorite additions to the franchise. It fits in so well with the other ships in universe and it was a no-brainer that it needed to be added to my fleet.

It is on the 1:250 scale like the other ships I have in the fleet. Measuring at 48cm in length with 2303 pieces.

It was weaksauce in the OT, they tried to make it cool in the PT, it got a cameo in the ST...but this it what it should have been.

Highly modified Rebel Alliance Naboo N1 Starfighter fitted with Ywing Thrusters and laser turret.

The Y-wing flies like a brick, it goes straight once you set course, even in atmospheric flight. Storms means nothing to it, it's a brilliant workhorse.

Attempt any aerobatics with the Y-wing and you'll find it awkward fast, dangerous even. But in the hands of a truly skilled pilot even the Y-wing can display grace and elegance. The pilot I hired to fly my bird for this photoshoot is the best I know. My friend, a military instructor, flew it like it was a hummingbird. I've never seen a Y-wing make such a beautiful and weightless immelmann turn. I would never dare to try anything like this myself.

We had a window for doing this manoeuver only once. That pretty backdrop was a thunderstorm coming our way fast. It wouldn't have been a problem for the Y-wing, but for us in our little Cessna it was an unpleasant scenario. We headed home to safety. I got my shot.

Now it`s done!

My biggest dream since i build Lego (about 6 years ago) is true.

I want build always a big Star Wars Diorama like Hoth ore something, but Rhen Var from the old Battlefront games are such a great planet and doenst see really much of this location.

So, now some facts:

- Building time 10 months

- 250.000 parts

- 250 minifigs

- size 2,5 x 1,5 meters

Credits to SIaki, Brickwright and Lary Lars for the X/Y-Wing and Snowspeeder.

Also to all they build an AT-AT the last time! I have only 3 weeks time to build it complete and so i was inspiration by many versions of it.

After the exhibition next week in Mondsee/Austria i would make an new AT-AT, this version is not so really perfect but the time was running!

Special Thanks to Boga for the LED`s and all they help me with tips and parts.

Rummaging through my minifig collection, I thought the old General Grievous torso looked a lot like the cockpit of a Y-wing!

The BTL-B Y-wing starfighter was an assault starfighter/bomber that flew combat missions for the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars.

This model had a full covering of the primary fuselage and engines. A bubble-turret provided clear view for the gunner.

The BTL-B was designed as a bomber, using such weapons as proton bombs. The bubble-turret utilized two light ion cannons for defense against enemy starfighters. It also was equipped with two medium laser cannons mounted on the front of the starfighter.

It possessed a hyperdrive system allowing them to jump into hyperspace without relying on a carrier or hyperspace ring. To aid them in their operations, they also made use of an astromech droid.

Hey people! Here are a couple of posters of my moc of the battlefront 2 Y-Wing!

They’re supposed to he inspired by the artistic posters from the BF2 game.

It is 60 cm long, 30 cm wide and 10 cm tall (with landing gear).

It is made out of 3270 pieces.

This model is a couple of cm bigger than it should but I think it enters the category of minifigure scale.

Hope you like it! 😁

Advance versions of every rebel's favorite fighters.

Even after many years I still really love this ship.

On retrouve :

Here is my latest great creation: A Galactic Republic hangar. It features :

- The latest version of my BTL-B Y-Wing ( which I will put online soon).

- A TABA gunship. Copies will be updated during the year.

- A clone company :)

Leave me your opinion in comments.

One assembly is just enough for two-stud wide circle of tiles (1x2). Connect two assemblies (for instance with that white round brick) and you get a six-stud wide circle of tiles (1x4). This way, I can imagine creating infinite tubes made of connected tiles 1x8. And practically any diameter, as long as you can find wheels suitable for encasing in chain links.

Warning: the finished construct is surprisingly robust but yes, it takes quite a bit of patience to attach all the tiles :) .

Or should that be Gold 2?

Version 1.1 of my midiscale Y-wing now with added Death Star.

The cockpit section has been rebuilt and hopefully improved after friend and expert builder Gary Davis pointed out that it could be improve.

Keep on keeping me on my toes Gary :)

Finally I can add a custom of Ooryl Qrygg to my collection !

Thanks to @SithBartender for introducing me to this cool character !

To be continued ...

An old photograph, never posted. This was an alternate to this, I chose that other one because the trees looked nicer, I guess. That photograph always kinda bothered me though, and looking at them now, perhaps the choice was wrong.

Second guessing, it happens to me a lot.
