Time seems to be moving at an exponential pace. I'm going to guess that this was one of my many encounters with BA5. A very reliable middle of the day turn back south out of Burnham Yard for Blue Island. I hid in the weeds on the north side of Calumet Park for this view.

The B&O mainline east from Barr Yard is running across the center of the frame from right to left. The wiggly wiggles on the left side is the Harbor's connection to what remains of the PRR's SC&S. And of course the Harbor is on the....well, maybe it isn't so obvious. Calumet Park also contained the crossing of the Michigan Central's mainline with the B&O and PRR. The present Harbor Belt main east from Calumet Park is actually the Michigan Central main from what Ive put together. The ancient Harbor predecessor Chicago, Hammond and Western would have sliced across the MC at Calumet Park way back in the day as they were actually destined for Whiting, via Calumet City Yard, State Line and Burnham Yard.

At least I think I have that right...

this photo incidentally looks like photos i took around this time 13 yrs ago, in the autumn of 2011. which incidentally look like they sound like the band pavement ((because i listened to them all the time back then))

i was awakened early by the extraordinary light...`_>`

Some interesting character on display here, and a notable difference in attitude by gender.

Mystic Florist, Mystic CT. In all my yrs of photography, never been accosted for taking a photo, even in the streets of my hometown NYC. The dolt owner of Mystic Florist must of had a bad week, for he came storming out cursing, at me and my wife whom was several yards ahead. Told him I was just talking a photo of your lovely store front, as he continued to ramble on; I just had to rebuttal and advise that the streets are public. So sad

it is a beautiful store front, but as a proprietor, a horror, I told him... I am going to return in Sept when the Seaport has the tall ship sails full. To continue...

Final note to my Flickr friends, if ever in Mystic, CT it a beautiful picturesque town, with great restaurants, with the Famous Mystic Pizza and the Seaport is amazing. But definitely stop by Mystic florist and snap a shoot... It will be entertaining.

No matter how long Anita and I have been out adventuring and photo taking together (about 7 yrs now!) we are still able to find some pretty cool and new to us places to visit. This wet lands park is just a short ride south of Staunton Virginia (USA). It's small but very bio diverse. A nice mile long trail wanders around it, into the wooded areas and out into an amazing sun lit and wild flower filled meadow while another trail climbs a hill ... Anita took this one, I did not. I was too busy chasing butterflies in the open meadow section! She went twice around the trail while I was doing this. LOL We look forward to visiting here again, perhaps in the different seasons. :)

I found this while going through some of my old images. This is from 2005.

These have been languishing, unused for quite a while. I went in for my annual CT scan yesterday, and happily I am still cancer free. I bought these shortly after chemo treatment to get myself back in shape, and I guess it worked... :)

I remember thinking that 6 pounders was about all I could handle at the time!

Jazz, men like you are rare. So blessed to call you a true friend.

54 yrs old, and it's in the Virginia Transportation Museum, disheartening, as I really enjoyed watching it perform in Nascar and would not have minded one to go back and forth to work, yea, I was employed then. This is an automatic, personally would have preferred a straightdrive.

My all-time buddy and me at the Kunstmuseum Bonn (Bonn Art Museum), December 1993

Canon EOS 650, some old Chinese b&w roll film, digitized 08.02.2021

"The Kunstmuseum Bonn is not only renowned for its collection, but due to its exceptional architecture, it is also a highlight of the Federal City of Bonn, which can hold its own internationally as well.

The building by Axel Schultes, with its ambitious concept of “flowing” space, provides convincing conditions both in terms of the dimensions of the individual rooms, their visual and material connecting axes, as well as with reference to the flow of light, for optimally presenting art in all of its facets, from the Classical Modern to the varieties of the most recent art.

After the Museum had been housed for many years in cramped conditions in the inner city of Bonn, the building that had been planned in the mid-1980s by the team of architects Dietrich Bangert, Bernd Jansen, Stefan Scholz and Axel Schultes (BJSS) was opened in June of 1992. As a component of the Bonn Museum Mile the architecture is convincing both from the outside and from the inside due to its openness and its flow of light. The discreet, but in no way somber, language of forms with its playful components does not lose itself in a self-celebration of architecture. Indebted in its size to the spirit of the late 1980s, the building wholly subordinates itself to its service function as an exhibition location for the fine arts, also from a practical standpoint."

I'm thinking of scanning the box of prints / envelope of negatives as a source of entertainment this wintery long weekend.

Me as a shy 17 year old on a residential fieldwork trip. Taken by my A-level biology teacher. I wouldn't go anywhere without my hat during that year. There was a rumour I went to bed with it on. I didn't!

The Roebling Bridge dates from the Civil War. Plenty of celebrations to happen this year.
