Olafur Eliasson's art installation "yellow fog".
Am Hof, Vienna.
"Yellow fog" is an intervention by Danish-Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson. It is his first work in public space in Vienna. Every day at dusk, the façade of the VERBUND headquarters is shrouded in yellow fog, thus changing the perception of the entire plaza ensemble.
Since autumn 2008, the "Yellow Fog" installation by Danish artist Olafur Eliasson can be seen on the facade of VERBUND’s "Am Hof" headquarters in Vienna. Every evening, as dusk falls, the facade of VERBUND’s headquarters is plunged into yellow fog, transforming the square and the building into a stage of fog, light and wind. Eliasson views the fog as a tool with which to turn spatial connections and distances into a tangible experience. He chose the colour yellow because of its particularly good visibility in the dark. Yellow fog thematises the transition from day into night and subtly draws the observer’s attention to the changes in the pace of the day...

Since we were not allowed to have a real fire at the campsite due to fire bans (and for good reason, so dry). I made a fake fire here just for a little fun. Something a little different.
A winter morning in the Malá Strana district. View from the Strahov Monastery (Czech: Strahovský klášter).

1 car clean and one still under a mound of snow.
Shot with my Nikkor 50mm f/1.4G and a Circular Polarizer.
My car was actually clean for a change so I decided to take a drive down to New Suffolk to snap a few shots.

Took the old ride out for a quick five minute shoot.
All I've done is an HID projector retrofit in the OEM housings, OEM door visors, painted the OEM wheels, dropped on some Tanabe DF210 Super Downs, and a DIY front lip.
Simple. Effective for now. I'm on a budget, hear me out.
Don't normally shoot cars. Just playing around. I need to invest in a CP lens and work on my reflection control for sure.

Votex kitted Tornado red mkV GTI on airbags, yellow fogs and color coded LM reps with polished lips complete the package very nicely.

Stopped by Stony Brook after work today to try to get a nice sunset shot (which I didn't). While I was there I checked out this neat little pond, while I turned back I figured why not take a photo of my car in its winter mode glory (or lack there of) since I haven't taken any of it in a long long time. This was taken at dusk, ISO1000, with my 85mm f/1.4 lens wideopen.
Last october, I woke up to a hazy morning
And could see just beyond to the river
at chimneys poking up through the ground.
Where their tips could not reach,
Dense smoke spew lazily from it
just thicker than the thick fog.
And the smoke became the fog
And I breathed it in.
For I could not hold my breath for more than a minute.
This October, I went back.
The chimneys are still there.
The fog still as thick.
And I still could not hold my breath for more than a minute.

An old photo I never edited/posted from last summer that I stumbled upon while transferring some files. I miss the summer and my summer wheels (and a clean car).

My GTI, lowered on Koni coilovers and sitting on custom painted gold 18x8 BBS CH's spaced out to et35 rear and et38 front with the red BBS caps. The shield on the grill has been painted to match the car, votex lip was textured and front rub strips too, door mouldings are from a base model Rabbit and, mirrors are satin black, door handles are European oem Rabbit handles. Other than that my rearview is from my old mk3 and has some custom hot rod pinstriping on it... there's other minor mods but I don't feel like typing them all.

My 02 wrx wagon in the snerrrgh. Unfortunately (or fortunately) it never stuck so this is all I got. It's a fun little daily while the m5 stays warm in the garage :)
What started out to be a 'beater / photo mobile' is quickly turning into another toy. Someone needs to hit me with a newspaper and yell "stop it!" lol.
