You must turn left in the left lane.
The left lane is the Cahill Expressway and veers left across the top of Circular Quay. Going east to Bondi.
The right lanes are the Bradfield Highway and proceed to the Sydney CBD, Darling Harbour or the ANZAC bridge.
So what if you don't turn left?
Well there's a nasty camera.

That B-Line double-decker bus has just come from Palm Beach. It works out of Brookvale Bus Depot on Sydney's northern beaches. I worked there, and on this bus line, all through my university days.
Back in the early 19th century, lol.

This photograph was taken while I was in Ukraine researching for a project about the nuclear catastrophe Chernobyl.
Field on the outskirts of ghostly Dickens, NE. circa 2010. Dickens was never a big town,but was big enough to have a post office, school, and a small main street at one time long ago. The town became famous for being accidentally "bombed" on a practice run by the local air force base back during WW II.Apparently the lights of the town looked close to the actual bomb site. The "bombs" were full of sand and did little damage thankfully. But what a story!
Passed by a couple of old yellow VW Busses the other day; made a U-turn. You’re welcome! I figure if I’m too busy or too much in a hurry to take ten minutes and enjoy the journey then I’m too busy and need to change something. I always stop for the photo op.

Well I remember the time when here on flickr there were many posts of these yellow buses , I also recall seeing over 80 by the same photographer in Explore on the same day once !
Never thought I would ever post a shot of one though , however , when you see one of these parked at the side of a English village pub - well a shot has to be taken .
This particular yellow bus I think has give up taking kids to & from school , if you look you can see an Environmental health rating in the side window . Therefore , I guess the bus must be used for some outside kind of catering now . On the other hand I might be quite wrong , like Peter below has said , it does not look as if it is going anywhere soon .

taken at the southern end of the Nathan Road, one of the busiest roads in Kowloon of Hong Kong. The building on the left is the famous hotel called The Peninsula Hong Kong which is opened in 1928.
Nathan Road is the main thoroughfare in Kowloon, Hong Kong that goes in a south-north direction from Tsim Sha Tsui to Sham Shui Po. The Historical Tram of Porto is a fabulous way to discover Porto. The cars are beautiful and well kept. The trip is not very long and the speed easy so that you have time to discover the full beauty of the historical heart of the city. This tram is very much used by tourists to discover the town but also by the inhabitants who want to avoid the steep slopes of Porto.

Another shot searched for SSC this week and what a simple choice - one of the iconic American Yellow Busses !
I am not going mad , I think this bus was once a " Bluebird " - on investigation , this is a 1985 International 5 litre petrol engine bus in blue !!
These buses were also made for the United States Air Force ( and possibly Army I would guess ) and the USAF busses were painted blue - hence the nickname - " Bluebird " . There are quite a few US airbases over here in the UK and I did work on one in my surveying days - at Mildenhall in Suffolk and that was a real eye opener seeing how things worked on a US base !!
Back to our yellow blue bus here though , the selective colour popping did not work as well as I would have liked so again it is not destined for SSC this week .
The bus is in a pub car park and is now used as a food outlet which is now set up and running , unlike the last time I posted a shot of this bus .

The Walk of Carquejeiras for many years had a hard race in the Port of women who called themselves "the carquejeiras". These women, the poor, transporting gorse to feed the furnaces and fireplaces. The trip began not far from Luiz Bridge-I at the foot of the pier.

After a tremendous 24" snowfall on Friday night and Saturday, it will take awhile to dig out all of the school buses for the district...NO school on Monday!!

Perhaps some unconventional back pedalling, the continuing delays & operational issues with the electric Streetdecks into service, has forced some of the reserve buses back into service during 2025, the latest being AX 611, formerly of Ringsend Garage, making a comeback at Conyngham Road.

Stolen title :-) for an image I made in the far west on one of my Outback trips. There is literally nothing out here, just a few crows and galahs. I slept in my swag next to the car and when you hear nothing but the wind it's a bit creepy at times. Anyway, it's just a feeling but the better feeling is being cut off everything and enjoy planet earth.
This is an old SA double decker bus abandoned out here in the desert. Used as accommodation for a seismic group in Tibooburra it was towed to it’s present location in the late 1970 for use as a mustering camp.

From March, beach club Bora Bora will be open for the beach season and then the iconic old American yellow school bus will be most likely used again as a food truck or kitchen. The yellow color fits well with Scheveningen, because together with green, these are the colors of the city of The Hague. It's really beautiful to see the school bus standing there in the sand of Scheveningen. Such a school bus appeals to the imagination all over the world, because the bus appears in many films and series. For example, the scene with the joker in a school bus after a robbery in The Dark Night has become legendary and Superman is not afraid to save children from such a typical yellow school bus in Man of Steel. The buses are yellow for safety reasons. The buses sometimes leave early in the morning to pick up children in the US and yellow is best seen by other drivers in a dark environment. In combination with the black lettering, it is the safest color to drive. Even more than red.

Vanaf maart is de sfeervolle strandclub Bora Bora wederom open en dan zal de iconische oude Amerikaanse gele schoolbus hoogstwaarschijnlijk weer in gebruik worden genomen als foodtruck of als extra keuken. De gele kleur past erg goed bij Scheveningen, want samen met groen zijn dat de kleuren van de stad Den Haag. Het is echt prachtig om de schoolbus daar in het zand te zien staan. Zo'n schoolbus spreekt overal ter wereld tot de verbeelding, omdat in veel films en series zo’n bus voorkomt. Zo is de scene met de joker in een schoolbus na een overval in de Batman film The Dark Night legendarisch geworden en is Superman niet te beroerd om kinderen te redden uit zo'n typische gele schoolbus in Man of Steel. De bussen zijn trouwens geel vanwege de veiligheid. Ze gaan veelal vroeg in de ochtend in de VS al de weg op om in het donker kinderen op te halen. Uit onderzoek is vroeger gebleken dat geel de kleur is die het beste wordt waargenomen in het donker. In combinatie met de zwarte belettering is het de meest veilige kleur om snel opgemerkt te worden. Nog meer dan rood zelfs.
Rails Replacements
EV 34 was just recently delivered to Donnybrook Garage at the time of this photo, seen operating a Dart Shuttle/ Rail Replacement service from Booterstown Station to Dublin City Centre in October 2007.
DART services were suspended between Connolly and Sydney Parade Stations as part of planned engineering works. A shuttle bus service will operate between Connolly and Booterstown Stations for customers making cross-city journeys, or travelling from southside stations to the city centre.

Porto , also known as Oporto is a city in the north of Portugal, the second largest city in the country. There live as many as two million people, and was the cultural capital of Europe since 2014. Many foreign visitors increasing interest in Porto. A little further south, across the Douro River, is also the city of Vila Nova de Gaia famous for its port wines. The numerous terraces along the Douro you can get yourself tasting this world famous wine! On the Douro is the oldest district of Porto, Ribeira. The long history of the district can be seen everywhere: with the narrow alleys , local markets and the old facades in the harbor as if time seems to have stood still. The Baixa district is rising from the riverbank – all pitched terracotta roofs and stucco painted in shades of mustard, Elastoplast and estuarine grey. The Porto Cathedral located in the historical centre of the city is one of the city's oldest monuments and one of the most important Romanesque monuments in Portugal. The city itself is built on the steep northern bank of the River Douro and radiates out to the Atlantic to the west and the ports of Matisinhos and Leça in the north. The Historical Tram of Porto is a fabulous way to discover Porto. The cars are beautiful and well kept. The trip is not very long and the speed easy so that you have time to discover the full beauty of the historical heart of the city. This tram is very much used by tourists to discover the town but also by the inhabitants who want to avoid the steep slopes of Porto. More photos in my Porto album.

Porto ook wel Oporto genoemd is een stad in het noorden van Portugal, de op één na grootste stad van het land. Er wonen maar liefst twee miljoen mensen, en sinds de stad in 2014 culture hoofdstad van Europa was, hebben ook buitenlandse bezoekers steeds meer interesse in Porto. Iets verder naar het zuiden, aan de overkant van de rivier de Douro, ligt ook de plaats Vila Nova de Gaia, waar de bekende portwijnen geproduceerd worden. Op de talloze terrasjes langs de Douro kunt u deze wereldberoemde wijn zelf komen proeven! Aan de Douro ligt ook de oudste wijk van Porto, Ribeira. De lange geschiedenis van de wijk is nog overal terug te zien: dankzij de smalle steegjes, de lokale markten en de oude gevels in de haven lijkt het alsof de tijd heeft stilgestaan. Midden in het historische centrum van Porto is de Sé kathedraal van Porto te vinden. Deze kathedraal is het belangrijkste Romaanse bouwwerk van Porto en behoord tot de belangrijkste van Portugal. De Luis I-brug over de rivier Douro is een opvallende boogbrug in de Portugese stad Porto. Het klimaat in Porto is op zijn zachtst gezegd nogal wispelturig. Word je wakker met zon, dan kun je ’s middags ineens in de mist zitten. En moet je door de regen snel een portproeverij inschieten. Want zeg je Porto, dan zeg je natuurlijk Port. Je kan uitgebreid Port proeven bij de grote Porthuizen in Vila Nova de Gaia. Het historische tram netwerk is een onmiskenbaar symbool van de stad Porto . Haar geschiedenis gaat terug tot 1872, toen de Amerikaanse auto's in de stad Porto werden geïntroduceerd. Het tramnetwerk is momenteel samengesteld uit 3 verschillende lijnen die door de meest iconische monumenten van Porto loopt. Lijn 1 hierboven, of de Rivierlijn loopt tussen het historisch centrum van Porto en Passeio Alegre Garden en biedt een unieke route langs de oevers van de rivier de Douro.
