Unusually (given their exposed radiators) I believe these were AEC Regent Vs, not Regent IIIs. Not sure of which operator's colours 249 was carrying at this time, nor of the subsequent fate of this vehicle, although I believe 266 is preserved.

XTO 256 at the outer terminus at Arnold. This was a 1956 Regent V D3RV with a Park Royal body. Most of this batch were based at the former Sherwood tram depot and were synonymous with the Arnold and Mapperley services. They were also a pleasure to drive through having full synchromesh gearboxes. Taken 15th February 1971 - Decimalisation day! Note the oil lamps guarding the road works behind the bus.
