writing about a writer's block is better than not writing at all. - Charles Bukowski

This year has been a blank slate for me. I can't tell Monday from Saturday, having been in lockdown three times this year. Right when we think the curve has flattened, the numbers soar again.
Update...now that vaccines are being distributed, there is hopefully a light at the end of the tunnel!
Find out where to get this awesome graduation outfit ft. items from Tiny Trinkets, Paper Damsels and so much more: delisadventures.wordpress.com/2017/06/13/so-it-begins/
I think I struggle sometimes with my two identities....I'm a concert photographer who loves street photography and a street photographer who loves music...can we both fit in the same body or will we go crazy?

HMM! Writer's block is like having your mind locked up - you aren't going to write freely until you escape!

This is what I spend half my days doing: looking out the window, hoping that the next sentence is out there. Somewhere. Please?

explanation of this piece:
i do not know if this ever happens to you all in flickr-land, but there are times when i have a no idea what art piece i want to create. a sort of "writer's block" of the paint brushes!!!
when this happens to me i just make "anything".....telling myself it does not have to be "great art" (LOL)..just do something to get my creative juices flowing (so to speak).
well.i was experiencing one of those "dreaded" blocks and this is what i made to deal with it.
when this happens i am sometimes pleased with what i have created..and sometimes i just laugh at myself and put it away.
i thought i would share with you all the art piece that resulted from my most recent "bump in the road"!!!

Inspiration is a slippery thing at the best of times. But, as writers, we can't afford to wait around on Madame Muse's good will. In this 60-minute audio presentation, adapted from some of her most popular posts, historical and speculative novelist K.M. Weiland shows you how to nurture creativity and put it at your summons, rather than the other way around.
Diane, it was such a kind gesture to have left this little present on my book shelf. Although I do not drink as much as I used to, I accept this with utmost gratitude. Also, I'll see to it that the bureau gets their work delivered in a timely fashion. As for now, this makeshift writing-instrument will have to suffice as the brainstorming process continues throughout the night into dawn.
Sleep has been, shall we say, irregular, as my vampiric, weekend work-schedule sweeps me away from the days of a conventional lifestyle of a human being. Sometimes I would forget what it is like going to a café for a cappuccino; but, I digress. Reorientation into a couple of days of normalcy would generally land at the end of the week as my Thursdays and Fridays would provide a taste of daylight.
There is plenty of active life in the city during these hours; yet, there are not many eateries that would satisfy my affinities. Finicky they would call me. For now, nourishment is essentially the reason to why I would even step foot outside at this hour. Make the drive up to and from the OC to Downtown LA or even Hollywood. Anything in particular that is worth the trip?
Anyhow, back to work.

For the past few months, Flint's been working on writing a book. Well, trying to work on a book. Some days, he can write and write and write and other days, nothing gets written at all. I walked in on this scene the other day during yet another period of the dreaded "Writer's Block." I asked him if it would be helpful to have a desk of his own to write at, but he insisted he does his best work whilst sitting inside of a waste basket. Okay, buddy, whatever works for ya! :P

- SB600 at 24mm zoom and 1/4 power level in a 43-inch Westcott [shoot-through] umbrella. Positioned camera-top (which is actually the bottom of this image) about 5-feet high and about 5-feet in front of subject. Flash was flagged at the bottom with a small piece of black foam in order to reduce light hitting the floor in front of the desk. (Key Light)

I made these photographs this morning near the river not far from my house. I had been envisioning this shot for several months and it felt good to actually go out and work with the idea. The actual reason for going out at 7am (had to be there before the sun got too high and ruined the wonderful even light in the river canyon) was to run the first roll of film through my new ZeroImage 6x9 pinhole camera. Stay tuned for those test shots next week.
**NOTE: The typewriter did not survive the process of resizing to web dimensions and sharpening as well as I would have liked. It is nice and sharp, however, in the original 36mb 5D file. (And yes, I really did lug the typewriter down to the river for these shots. No compositing here)
Facing the blank page. But it's actually an awesome opportunity to create a whole new world for someone to enjoy!

And at this place in the ways
I wait for song,
My poem-hand still, on the paper,
All night long.
And my storm beating strong!

I've been sitting on this photograph for over 4 years. Why did it take me so long to post? Hope you like it.

Dorothy crept out onto the deck of the Creole Queen while her husband still slept. She had made good progress on writing her novel since they had taken off from the Port of New Orleans, but was having problems figuring out the ending.
"Should Sir Harold save Princess Minerva from the evil clutches of the Queen, or should the Princess double cross Sir Harold and let the Far Kingdom fall?" she thought to herself. The decision made her anxious.
"Maybe I'll just go get some breakfast first," she mumbled.
