I was not sure of what I could do for this. Dumb eh? Considering I am a musician and all. Then it came to me. Paperback Writer by The Beatles.

I took this macro of a purple Hyacinth early last May. Can't wait for things to start blooming this spring, everything is rather late. We had more snow again this past week although spring is really just around the corner, really.

Much like I enjoy shooting vintage cameras, I love writing with fountain pens. For years I have enjoyed crafting my own in my workshop. This is a closeup macro photo of the nib on my newest creation that I call “Night Writer” which is made of Ebony and Black Titanium.

Paperback writer (paperback writer)

Dear Sir or Madam, will you read my book?

It took me years to write, will you take a look?

It's based on a novel by a man named Lear

And I need a job

So I wanna be a paperback writer

Paperback writer

It's a dirty story of a dirty man

And his clinging wife doesn't understand

His son is working for the Daily Mail

It's a steady job

But he wants to be a paperback writer

Paperback writer

Paperback writer (paperback writer)

It's a thousand pages, give or take a few

I'll be writing more in a week or two

I could make it longer if you like the style

I can change it 'round

And I wanna be a paperback writer

Paperback writer

If you really like it you can have the rights

It could make a million for you overnight

If you must return it you can send it here

But I need a break

And I wanna be a paperback writer

An updated version of a shot taken last year. I've been experimenting lately with taming the contrast levels of Fuji's RAF files to see what a "softer" touch might produce.

Thanks for your faves and comments!

I love how dorky Jehu is! She keeps a journal and has been writing songs, lately. My brother wrote music to one of them, and I guess they're going to record it soon. Sometimes we wake up on weekends to find her writing poetry.♥

...well photographers block; struggling for inspiration, playing with DOF on my Macro lens and a pack of pencils to see if anything creative could occur.

Sitting on it, or experiencing it. The view of the quarry may help or hinder inspiration, I suppose.

X This shot is probably not going to be appreciated by too many of my foreign contacts .It is an image from the third day of the second test between England and South Africa at Trent Bridge in Nottingham. It was a perfect day for cricket and South Africa batted wonderfully putting the English bowlers to the sword. The shot is of the fast bowler Wood about to bowl from the Pavilion End.

Regardless of this I had a wonderful day on Sunday, drinking chilled white wine with the constant murmur of the large crowd with the occasional crack as another ball was dispatched to the boundary by South African batsmen. I was reminded of the words of the great cricket writer Neville Cardus who wrote in 1924

"Trent Bridge is a lotus land for batsmen, a place where it was always afternoon and 360 for two wickets"

English actually lost the test match on Monday, so it is, one all in the series with two more to matches play

THANKS FOR YOUR VISIT AND FOR TAKING THE TIME TO WRITE A COMMENT IT’S MUCH APPRECIATED AND SO MUCH MORE INTRESTING THAN JUST GIVING A FAVE

This was shot with the help of a big tripod, a manfrotto Magic-Arm and a really shacky ladder. Lit by a Profoto D1 in a beautydish, I used f1.4 and 1/250, ISO 64 to keep a little bit of the ambient light. Otherwise the spotlight-effect would be too strong...
