"Every Christmas wreath is more than just a decoration...
it's a special reminder of Jesus, the reason for our celebration.
The circle of a Christmas wreath is an never-ending ring,
a reminder of eternal love from our Lord and King.
The Christmas wreath is a sign of welcome, inviting all to enter in...
a reminder of Christ's invitation for all to come to Him.
The middle of a Christmas wreath is a bare and empty space,
a reminder of what life would be without Christ's love and grace.
So each time you see a Christmas wreath hanging from a door,
may your heart rejoice in the One that Christmas is truly for!"

A very small, 2inch, crocheted Christmas Wreath that Niqui made for the decorations this year, will twinkling coloured lights in the background.
I saw the sun shining on my wreath the other day, and loved how its sparkles and white poinsettas & bows caught the sunlight. Added bonus was the shadow from the tree, creating an illusion that the wreath is hanging from the tree!

So I might be a little bit obsessed with a certain local flower shop and the lady that runs it has the most amazing eye for beautiful flora. This wreath caught my eye when I was last mooching about. Simple. Pure. Love.
Following an old tradition, I make a dandelion wreath every year to welcome spring.
Kranz aus Löwenzahn
Nach einer alten Tradition mache ich jedes Jahr einen Kranz aus Löwenzahn, um den Frühling zu begrüßen.

Looking Close... on Friday: Frosty Flora
This is Woollsia pungens which is called Snow Wreath because of the white flowers, 'though sometimes they are pink!

Look down! It's a small goldenrod...a small "wreath goldenrod," that is.

▶ "Solidago caesia [commonly named blue-stemmed goldenrod, wreath goldenrod, or woodland goldenrod] is a herbaceous perennial wildflower, native to central and eastern North America from Quebec south to Florida and Texas. It forms a clump of arching, blue-green stems clad with lance-shaped, toothed, medium to dark green leaves, 2-5 inches long (5-12 cm). Blooming for about one month in late summer to early fall, the plant bears loose clusters of 1-12 tiny bright yellow flowers in the leaf axils [instead of in a large array at the top of the plant], attractive to birds, butterflies, hummingbirds, and a wide variety of insects. [Preferring medium to part shade, Solidago caesia can often be found in wooded areas.]"

A traditional Easter wreath (velikonoční věnec) seen on a door in Prague (Golden Lane) during the Easter season. Such wreaths are commonly displayed in the Czech Republic to celebrate spring and renewal. They reflect local folk traditions and bring a festive and welcoming touch to homes during Easter.
These wreaths are donated by individuals and business and placed on the graves of military veterans to honor their service. Made in Maine, the wreaths are distributed across the country by trucker volunteers, and placed by more volunteers nationwide on the graves the second Saturday of December.
I love peering through shop windows. And I delight in capturing objects reflected from the outside/mixed with the inside to form what I call a "collage of images".
So I was excited about this week's FlickrFriday theme: WINDOW
I thought the wreath was stunning--and the collage effect doesn't show the total beauty--but I like the photo anyway...

There's a May 1st. tradition all over Greece: flowers are gathered and a wreath made of them is hung on the eve of May 1st. from balconies and windows or over house thresholds.
At night, young men sometimes steal the wreaths and take them to their loved ones! The wreaths not stolen remain hung until the feast of St. John, the Fire lighter, in June, when fires are lit and young men and women jump over them. May 1st. wreaths are then thrown into the fires...
Let me dedicate this wreath of purple flowers, as a symbol of Spring eternal and also young love eternal, to "zoom in tight"'s
