Kinetic Photograph made with one single long exposure shot, printed straight out of camera.

If youโ€™d like to read more details about how the shot is made see below. And for more of my kinetic photographs hereโ€™s my set, "Drawing with Light"

Kinetic: Relating to, caused by, or producing motion.

These are called โ€œKineticโ€ photographs because there is motion, energy, and movement involved, specifically my and the cameraโ€™s movements.

I choose a light source and/or subject, set my camera for a long exposure (typically around 4 seconds), focus on my subject and push the shutter button. When the shutter opens I move the camera around with my hands...large, sweeping, dramatic movements. And then I will literally throw the camera several feet up into the air, most times imparting a spinning or whirling motion to it as I hurl it upward. I may throw the camera several times and also utilize hand-held motion several times in one photo. None of these are Photoshopped, layered, or a composite photo...what you see occurs in one shot, one take.

Arenโ€™t I afraid that I will drop and break my camera? For regular followers of my photostream and this series you will know that I have already done so. This little camera has been dropped many times, and broken once when dropped on concrete outside. It still functions...not so well for regular photographs, but superbly for more kinetic work.

Shot in Laguna Beach CA, this car was part of an inventory photo shooting for Evan Paul Motorcars.

I gotta say, this thing is a real beaut'. It has all the features of a wraith, including an opening plasma mortar, and posable wings. However, I was not able to include a cockpit :( This also marks the first time I included lights in a MOC, located in the forward and back wings, and on the back.

A commissioned model of the iconic Wraith tank. Model features room for driver and gunner. The main gun can also retract back into the body of the tank as well.

So I finally started on my wraith and I've already made some real headway on it, which is especially good because that means I'll get to finish before school starts. I am especially proud of what I've built so far: I've put in a bunch of bells and whistles with some pretty neat functions :)

The snapshot was made in Forza Horizon 3 (video game) and retouched in Photoshop.

Wraiths.

Spirits that linger on, unable to pass on to whatever afterlife awaits them. They haunt the remains of stones that were once their home, their necrotic presence slowly withering the land and corrupting all life that wander close...

---

Well this turned out to be an interesting challenge. I wanted to build something for the Summer Joust but kinda forgot to until yesterday when I realized that I had a single day left till the deadline. And because that apparently wasn't enough to worry about, I thought I'd try to make a build that would fit 3 categories at once (namely: no bley, no grey; non-human civilizations; and ruins).

All in all I am pretty satisfied of this little build that got me to use some colors that I would rarely try.

Let me know what you think! :D
