I had observed several gulls do this fly around and land (behind me as it were) and thought it might be fun to try and capture it,

Any how after several unhappy attempts at putting it all together, today was a reasonable success. The light on the Gull, large and central, is courtesy of a large window reflection of the sun, acted like a flash in effect, i have since wondered how the birds cope with this reflection when they get close, i suppose it is a little like us, driving into the headlamp beam of an oncoming car, you just learn to handle it......

If I can't find them, I will make them :) And we have fun fun fun til my wife takes my Can Am awayyyyyyyyyyyy :)

My friend from yesterday suddenly deciding he had enough and, as clearly evident from the photo, startled me in this action. A bad photo, I pondered whether to discard it but played with it a while as best I could and decided to keep it...if for no other reason than the memory. I would have "painted" it but my free processing sites have suddenly decided to ask for money for the privilege as they all eventually do. Actually, it looks a bit like "painting" anyway.

There are a couple of nice points...particularly around the feet where the water spray is nicely expressed. Larger shows it better.

There are over 1000 slot canyons in southern Utah.

Cottonwood Canyon is located near the Cockscomb in Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. On a hot day, the shade doesn't offer a great break from the heat, because the air flow through the canyon is pretty low. And, despite the fact that this is a desert, slot canyons are no place to be if there are heavy rains.

For me, this scene is special because of the colors and the quiet nature of this place. Hiking along the canyon with my bride is a great memory from an amazing journey.

Been up all night looking at falling stars :) Last night was supposed to be a once in a year thing. Found out it is hard to catch them :) Anybody know the rest of the song :) The elevation is almost 10,000 ft, I think that is why it is so clear and so many stars.

What a feeling!
