Khiva (Uzbek: Xiva / Хива; Persian: خیوه / Khiveh; Russian: Хива; alternative or historical names include Khorasam, Khoresm, Khwarezm, Khwarizm, Khwarazm, Chorezm, and Persian: خوارزم) is a city of approximately 50,000 people located in Xorazm Province, Uzbekistan. It is the former capital of Khwarezmia and the Khanate of Khiva. Itchan Kala in Khiva was the first site in Uzbekistan to be inscribed in the World Heritage List (1991).

Mausoleum of Seydina Limamou Laye on Yoff beach in Dakar, the capital of Senegal. He was a holy figure and founder of the Senegalese Islamic Brotherhood Layene.
In 1884 he declared himself to be the Mahdi. This caused controversy with the French and many orthodox Muslims. His message emphasized prayer, alms, social justice and cleanliness.

The full title of the church is Memorial Church of All Saints in Memory of Innocent Victims in our Fatherland.
The first stone was consecrated in June 1991 by Patriarch Alexej II. Building started in 2006 and the church was opened in 2010.

This was a long motorbike trip for only this photo - I wanted it so badly! The volcano you see is the Mount Agung, which is under the high emergency at the moment - it is very close up to erupting. Scary! This photo was taken a month back, when there was no evacuation required.
Inspired by the Global Village in Dubai, Delhi celebrated a month long Times Global Village 2007 festival in April. The shopping festival-cum-entertainment extravaganza showcased master craftsmen from India and abroad. The countries participating included the UAE, UK, South Africa, sub-Saharan countries, Pakistan, Turkey, Czech Republic, Egypt, Syria, Thailand and China.
A Rajasthani folk artist mesmerising the crowd with "Kachhi Ghodi" performance in Global Village festival, Noida. These folk artists are usually invited during major events and festivals to perform all over India.
Kachhi Ghodi is one of the most famous dance forms in Rajasthan and an exemplary folk art form. It brings out the vivid hues and the rustic charms of rural life in Rajasthan.
Kachi Ghoodi derives its name from the word Ghoodi meaning ‘mare’.
It is a sprightly dance where the men and women don costumes resembling horses and pretend to be cavalry soldiers or horsed bandits. The costume from hip down is a wooden horse and the footwork is coordinated with the beats of the drums and flutes to resemble the trotting movements of the horse rider.
After s sleepless night, while gazing at milky way, starting to hike up this mountain at 4:45 in the morning, to witness this gorgeous sunrise above mirror lake Angelus. Loved it!!
Mount Popa is a volcano 1518 metres above sea level, and located in central Myanmar. Mount Popa is perhaps best known as a pilgrimage site, with numerous Nat temples and relic sites atop the mountain
I woke up this morning with a goal in mind - to push myself to get sharper panning shots, and to come home with a set of some of the sharpest and most colorful panning shots I've done. I kept about 50 shots today, here's a little sample of them...

The enchanting Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) make an appearance zigzagging above a camp of tepees north of Yellowknife, NWT, in Canada’s arctic north. They come without warning, but once they appear, they dance across the sky and generate an intense sense of awe and wonder as you stand under and marvel at them.

This waterfall is well know in Dalat area. It was not touristy at all, which surprised me a lot - probably because it is a bit further away from the main attractions. So worth the journey, tough!

Sometimes we ask, how tourism changes the untouched countries and those who travel know, that tourism is very powerful at bringing changes into the lifestyle of any country like Myanmar, which opened its borders to tourism only 6 years ago. Well here is this touching picture of a fisherman on the Inle Lake, the second largest lake in this country. It seems to be a pretty impressive shot from the boat passing by, while the fisherman is doing his job. The ugly truth is, that this man realised, it is financially better to be posing for the tourists, than fishing and selling in the market. He is floating right at the place, where the river channel enters the lake - that means all the boats coming from the town called Nyaungshwe have to go pass him. Some people are disgusted by this fact, me being a photo hunter, I loved the dance he did for me and my lens. Must be even more beautiful while sunrise and a fog lying lazily above the surface. I was pleased to give him some change and truly, I saw sparkle of happiness in his wrinkly face – he was so pleased, he was spoiling me with even more beautiful “dances”. Fisherman or a “posing dancer” - he has to feed his family and I know the poverty in this country is still a big issue.
Although there is not much on Lembongan island and we were a bit disappointed, this place brought joy into my heart.

What a wonderful night above Angelus Hut and Lake at Nelson Lakes National park (1650m). The sky cleared up and the wind got so calm, the surface was like a mirror. Very thankful for the luck I had!
