Toruń is one of most attractive and historic towns in Poland.
It is famous for being the birthplace ( in 1474 ) of the Polish astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus whose epochal book, De Revolutionibus Orbium Coelestium is universally regarded as the starting point of modern astronomy.
In 1997 the old medieval quarter of Toruń comprising the Old Town ( 1233 ), the New Town ( 1264 ) and the Teutonic Knights Castle ( mid 13th c. ) was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site for having preserved almost intact its original medieval street layout. Toruń is full of Gothic monuments of architecture, all built of brick, such as the Town Hall, The Leaning Tower, numerous churches and many burgher houses around the central market square and the surrounding streets.
If you ever are in Gdańsk on the coast, I recommend driving down to Toruń - it's only 2hrs away on the motorway - the place has a great artistic atmosphere and a lively cafe scene.
Avebury henge and stone circles are one of the greatest marvels of prehistoric Britain. Built and much altered during the Neolithic period, roughly between 2850 BC and 2200 BC, the henge survives as a huge circular bank and ditch, encircling an area that includes part of Avebury village. Within the henge is the largest stone circle in Britain - originally of about 100 stones - which in turn encloses two smaller stone circles.
Avebury is part of an extraordinary set of Neolithic and Bronze Age ceremonial sites that seemingly formed a vast sacred landscape. They include West Kennet Avenue, West Kennet Long Barrow, The Sanctuary, Windmill Hill, and the mysterious Silbury Hill. Many can be reached on foot from the village. The Alexander Keiller Museum also displays many notable finds from the Avebury monuments. Together with Stonehenge, Avebury and its surroundings are a World Heritage Site.

Der Nationalpark Jasmund liegt auf der Halbinsel Jasmund im Nordosten der Insel Rügen im Bundesland Mecklenburg-Vorpommern und besteht seit dem 12. September 1990. Er ist 3.003 Hektar (ha) groß und ist damit Deutschlands kleinster Nationalpark. Seit 25. Juni 2011 gehört ein Teil des Buchenwalds des Parks zum UNESCO-Welterbe.
Das Gebiet des Nationalparks Jasmund umfasst den mit ursprünglichem Buchenwald bestockten Höhenrücken der Stubnitz nördlich der Hafenstadt Sassnitz mit der Kreide-Kliffküste (2.200 ha) (charakteristisch vor allem die Stubbenkammer), einen 500 Meter weit in die Ostsee hinein reichenden Wasserstreifen (603 ha) sowie 200 ha im Westen des Nationalparks, die sich aus den ehemaligen Quoltitzer Kreidebrüchen, Wiesen, Mooren und Trockenrasen zusammensetzen. Die höchste Erhebung Rügens, der 161 Meter hohe Piekberg, befindet sich ebenfalls im Nationalpark.

The Jasmund National Park (German: Nationalpark Jasmund) is a nature reserve on the Jasmund peninsula, in the northeast of Rügen island in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. It is famous for containing the largest chalk cliffs in Germany, the Königsstuhl (German = "king's chair"). These cliffs are up to 161 m (528 ft) above the Baltic Sea. The beech forests behind the cliffs are also part of the national park.
Consisting of only 30 km2 (12 sq mi), this is the smallest national park in Germany. The park was founded in 1990 by the last government of East Germany (GDR) prior to the German reunification.
On June 25, 2011 the beech forest in the park was added to UNESCO World Heritage Site as an extension of the Primeval Beech Forests of the Carpathians and the Ancient Beech Forests of Germany.
I took a secound attempt for his motive and I am actually more happy with this one. The previous one was shot during the blue hour but this was the shot which I had in mind. @ former Coal Mine "Zollverein" in Essen, Germany.

La Petite France, also known as the ‚Quartier des Tanneurs’, is a historic quarter of the city of Strasbourg in eastern France. At Petite France, the river Ill splits up into a number of channels that cascade through an area that was, in the Middle Ages, home to the city's tanners, millers and fishermen. Today, Petite France is one of Strasbourg's main tourist attractions, and it belongs to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Nunnery Quadrangle antique ruins, the Cuadrangulo de las Monjas, West wall, Uxmal ruins Mayan archeological heritage site in Yucatan, Mexico.
The Nunnery Quadrangle in Uxmal was built from 900-1000, and the name related with nuns was assigned in the 16th century because it resembled a convent. The quadrangle consists of four palaces placed on different levels that surround a courtyard.
The eastern building (photographed here) has a length of 50m with five chambers, two of which have other interior rooms. The decoration of its walls mimics snake scales complemented by six groups of double-headed snakes arranged from the largest on the top, to smallest on the bottom and with owl heads, a bird associated with death. Chaac’s masks are also present on both edges.

The Semperoper is the opera house of the Saxon State Opera (Sächsische Staatsoper Dresden) and the concert hall of the Saxon State Orchestra (Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden). It is also home to the Semperoper ballet. The building is located in the historic centre of Dresden, Germany, near the Elbe River.
The opera house was originally built by the architect Gottfried Semper in 1841. After a devastating fire in 1869, the opera house was rebuilt, partly again by Semper, and completed in 1878.
The Semperoper was again destroyed during the infamous bombing in 1945, and was rebuilt in 1985. It opened exactly 40 years after the bombing on 13 February with the same opera that was last performed before its destruction, Der Freischütz by Carl Maria von Weber.

(it was 1942 during worldwar II as they realy burned down
after an attac of the english airforce,
but the build all towers up again.
Now the city belonged to the worldheritage)

The Wadden Sea is the largest tidal flats system in the world, where natural processes proceed largely undisturbed. It extends along the coasts of Denmark, Germany and the Netherlands.
For its globally unique geological and ecological values the Wadden Sea is listed by UNESCO as World Heritage. Nowhere else in the world is there such a dynamic landscape with a multitude of habitats, shaped by wind and tides. Global biodiversity is reliant on the Wadden Sea.

Wies - The Pilgrimage Church of Wies (German: Wieskirche) is an oval rococo church, designed in the late 1740s by brothers J. B. and Dominikus Zimmermann, the latter of whom lived nearby for the last eleven years of his life. It is located in the foothills of the Alps, in the municipality of Steingaden in the Weilheim-Schongau district, Bavaria, Germany.

Every 2 years the Grand-Place (Grote markt, central square) in Brussels is covered with a flower carpet of begonias during 3 or 4 days. The carpet of 77 m x 24 m is composed by about 120 volunteers, with nearly one million begonias.
This year, in 2014 the event was from Thursday 14 to Sunday 17 August 2014 at the Grand-Place in Brussels.
The theme for 2014 was 50 years of Turkish immigration. Because of that, a turkish Usak carpet was laid on the square in flowers.
