The Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, The Red Arrows, in what I recall being their 'Spitfire Formation' during the 2015 Scottish International Air Show at Ayr, Scotland.
Captured in September 2015 with white smoke trails against a plain sky I opted for a striking black and white edit for the usually colourful display here. Forgot I had my camera set several stops under when using my flash last night and thought I might have lost this -- thank you PS for levels!
Founded in 1939 and straddling the Rio Grande, the BdANWR is located in south-central New Mexico, an hour and half south of Albuquerque. Nestled between several other refuges, study areas, farmland and not too far west of the White Sands Missile Range, it’s a wonderful and lovely New Mexico region. The 57,000 acre (23,000 ha) well-kept and managed refuge is also a worldclass facility that attracts thousands of local, national and international visitors annually.
A cold December, Sunday morning, a little late, my first time but not last time here, I spend five hours exploring north and south loop areas and walked one of the trails - 32 species, six “life birds,” 2023 New Mexico count up to 85 (started in June) – a good day. Perhaps there were thousands of Sandhill Cranes here this Sunday – second most birds in one day for me.
I saw this Harrier above the canopy ahead of me and while moving slowly to get closer to where I thought it was, it suddenly flashed by me low flying quickly in the opposite direction, between me and the trees. I was lucky to get a shot.
When Mum makes pancakes, everyone hangs in the kitchen, waiting for a couple of worldclass pancakes!

Prospect Point is a point at the northern tip of Stanley Park in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, located on the south side of the First Narrows of Burrard Inlet. The point, which as its name suggests, is a viewpoint, landmark and tourist attraction in Stanley Park and has a restaurant and other facilities, is just west of the Lions Gate Bridge.

📍 Desierto De Tatacoa
Located in the northern part of the department of Huila - about 50 km from the department's capital, Neiva - the Tatacoa Desert is the second driest area in Colombia (just after the La Guajira Desert, located at the northern end of the country). Although technically speaking, it is important to note that Tatacoa is actually a tropical dry forest, not a desert. Its weather conditions and lack of air pollution and human intervention allow for some of the best star gazing in the country, and some of the best in the world.
