Tight shot., maybe more 'arty' than 'ID'?., but surely these Grebes are 'works of art'?
If they didn't exist and you let your imagination 'run wild' you may conjure up such a creature., but you'd probably confine such thoughts to your imagination
Eyes of fire., golden lochs of hair., a fantasy bird belonging in the realms of fairy tales., don't be silly.....how could something like that ever be real?
Exploring local backroads
I took my first DSLR, a Canon EOS REBEL XSI off the shelf and went exploring some local backroads. Eventually we ran into snow, with a blue sky and some clouds, it was time to try the camera. The scene was shot in RAW and saved as a TIFF file after a couple of adjustments.

The factory was founded in 1934 for the production of Hydronalium. It operated as magnesite works from 1947 to 1990.
This is work is by the lovely and talented Debra (Rose) Lynch, friend and co-artists on some works. This is entirely her own. She explained to me that this was inspired by a dream she recently had about climbing out her bedroom window when a young girl and down a tree to sneak out the house at night. Well when she climbed back up and in the window, thinking she had fooled her parents. . .guess what? A dream of a real event, hence this work.

From the top of Win Hill Pike on a very windy day, at least it was at the top. Bradwell village can just be seen in the shadows.
The ruins of an abandoned cement works in Alsen, NY. This was a quick stop as I didn't want to risk ticks and hurting my knees in the overgrowth. Also, I got this close because a gate was open that allowed me to cross the tracks. A track crew was nearby and I did not want to get locked in.
I have been getting up close and personal with some raptors this week. This Little Eagle, an Australian Native, is a lifer for me and was a wonderful birthday present for me on Monday. Seen in the Truganina Park/Cheetham Salt Works area.

The loaded bogie box wagon train was just departing while the train of tankers seemed to be moving in to the loading area.

Flower is mine. I made the desk paper copy and placed it on my monitor. I've had some changes since then. New phone, new desk lamp, new bigger monitor, better sound system, newer glasses, less hair (LOL) and larger mouse pad.
