An owl symbolizes wisdom and in these times we can all use a little bit of wisdom. This Siberian eagle owl is also a fantastic bird. Impressive appearance both sitting and in flight.

This wise old owl was perched in a large pine tree in central campus at the local University. He gazed tolerantly at all the passing students, a few photographers and a flock of noisy crows, only wanting to be left in peace to snooze and contemplate life.
I have never had such an easy photography session with a Great Horned Owl.

I saw this beautiful display of homegrown tomatoes at a local grocery store today. Being a foodie (and a photographer) I had to stop and take a photo. There's nothing like a fresh juicy tomato! And you better believe I bought a couple too. 😁

A Spoonful Of Wisdom...
Last September I did a bunch of knife, fork and spoon shots. This was one of them that I had taken but not posted until today.
It was one of those days where I was trapped inside due to rally bad weather and needed something to break the monotony of being home alone. I decided to spend a few hours with my grandmothers silverware set. Just trying to make something out of nothing

This ornamental kale with its free petal structure suggests to me an open heart to receive and give freely. It was a treat to see the lovely drops this morning.
In the words of Thomas Frank, "Ding Dong the Jerk is Gone"! Well, not quite, but very soon. The orange menace has lost this election to a man of wisdom, compassion, and character, President-elect, Joe Biden. Words cannot express the joy and relief that I feel as I type these words! After days of anxiety, obsessively checking the news, and inability to focus on anything, the news came yesterday that the worst president in American history will, hopefully, soon be yesterday's news - Hallelujah!!!
Words can't adequately express my joy and relief, so I took an iPhone photo of a coneflower on my porch through a journey to Deep Dream Generator, then to Topaz Studio to add some brush strokes and a texture. An end to the last four years of daily nightmare is at hand!

The ancient scriptural writings say that the wisdom from above is first of all pure. Hmmm, that sounds like a challenge. I want to be pure. Pure in heart, pure in thought, pure in word and deed. I think it is a challenge to be those things. The scriptures help me in my attempt to live this way. Seeing the snow yesterday and today makes me think about my goal to have a pure heart that is white as snow and full of love for God and for people. I hope that everyone has a purely delightful weekend. :)
