#Ring

And I thought I had polished it thoroughly before the photoshoot ;) This Oriental-style silver ring is adorned with wire wrappings and set with a fairly large turquoise cabochon. I bought it many years ago at Berlin's biggest flea market, and I vaguely remember that the vendor said it was Persian, but whether that referred to the entire ring or just the stone, I can't recall. At the stone's centre, its "heart", if you like, are two brighter spots resembling a cameo carving (the most popular kind of cameo: a pendant with a lady's bust/profile). I think this was what "spoke" to me and made me buy it, next to the ring's quite extravagant, longish shape.

This low-key image and the ring's wire ornaments called for bokeh, so I mounted the Laowa 50mm 2X macro and got close. The most tricky part of the shooting process was finding the right angle for the ring and the best position for my lamps (to prevent too many blown-out spots on the ring). As usual, the lamps with their warm light turned silver into gold.

I'm very busy today and hope to catch up with you tonight.

HMM, Everyone!

....to oxidize or not oxidize???? hmmm.....

This pair of earrings are handcrafted out of sterling silver wire and beads. They feature 2 types of faceted citrine briolettes (square and pear-shaped).

These earrings are approximately 1 1/2 inch in length, and 7/8 inch in width.

This pair of earrings were handmade using sterling silver wire and components. They are adorned with over 100 freshwater cultured pearls (actually 52 on each! ...to be more precise! LOL), and they feature two(2) 8.3 carat grade AAA laser cut crystal clear quartz briolette beads.

These earrings are 2 3/8" in length. The circle on the top of the earrings is 7/8" in width.

This pair of earrings were created for the Wire Artisans Guild weekly theme challenge. This weeks theme was "circles and squares."

This beautiful heart shaped piece of Eudialyte, was custom cut and wrapped for Mindy.

Made from scratch in sterling silver wire. I shaped a ring shank with 16ga. wire and textured it all over with small dents. I strung one sterling silver bead on one end and with help from the tension in the ring’s shank, I fastened a coil made from different gauges wire on the other end. (The bead can move freely on the short end.) And for that final touch, I oxidised the ring.

Walk on the side of paradise and come fly with me to Verde Island.

Thrill with me at the orgasmic sight of a floral utopia. Allow the cerulean sky to strike you speechless as you inhale the scent of an au naturale world and are utterly intoxicated.

I am having too much fun :)

Its really satisfying in a wierd way,

or maybe its the instant gratification, hmmmm.

Silky smooth Smokey quartz nuggets in the most beautiful brown-grey colour!! I suppose this colour is why the call it Smokey quartz and it is an absolutely gorgeous colour. The smooth surface of the nuggets reflects the light and adds lots of shine to them.

They are topped with a firm fringe of lovely white keshi freshwater pearls with lots of lustre. There is a very light pink hue to the nacre which complements the quartz beautifully.

A truly romantic and beautiful heart necklace. This glass lampwork heart was handmade by me in the flame. Layers of black and white with a streak of shimmering dichroic all coated in clear for added depth and beauty.

This heart has been wired onto a solid sterling silver bail with sterling silver wire. Dropping below the heart is a beautiful faceted rutilated quartz onion briolette wire wrapped with a very fine gauge sterling wire. I love this heart!

Including the bail, heart drops down about 2.5 inches from the center of the chain. The heart itself measures almost 2 inches in width and length.

Dazzling fused dichroic glass cabochons that we have expertly hand wrapped in 925 sterling silver wire.

I handmade the frame that holds the AAA Smooth Lemon Topaz Briolette. I then meticulously wirewrapped hair fine guage 14/20 goldfilled wire around the whole frame. Clusters of the finest gemstones decorate the bottom: London Blue Topaz (a huge full briolette hangs at the bottom with tons of rondelles), Swiss Blue Topaz (check out that huge nugget at the bottom as well as the other shaped briolettes), and Champagne Freshwater pearls. The whole necklace is super regal and beautiful!

The high quality thick 14/20 goldfilled chain is of premium quality and weight. As an extra touch, a gold filled swirl and a cluster of gemstones hangs assymetrical on the chain!

The gemstones just sparkle and they are so perfect!

The pendant measures 2 1/4 inches long and almost 1 1/4 inches wide. The length of the necklace measures 16-17 inches long with another London Blue Topaz briolette hanging off of the extender.

Happy Spring to those of us who are celebrating my favorite time of year.

I meant to post this yesterday on Gorgeous Green Thursday, but time has been going too fast for me to keep up with my posts and comments. I seem to boot up much slower than my cell phone! Have a wonderful weekend, everyone, and enjoy all the high points of whatever season you are experiencing in this crazy world of rapid weather changes.

note: This piece was reworked with much experimentation. I've become obsessed with my new passion for jewelry making!

That alone, has rearranged my life and *woman cave* . . . LOL!

This ring is constructed entirely if sterling silver. It has a swirling central design on a triple wire shank with decorative side detail.

~BB :)

Made back in September, I'm just now getting around to posting pictures of it. It's beautiful, isn't it?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is my challenge piece for the Glitz Lounge August Challenge.

I do realize I'm quite a bit late, but I'm sure you can see I had a lot of wiring to do. ;)

While I don't have a favorite painting, I do enjoy many a painting and more specifically, the strokes made by watercolors on canvas.

So when I saw these three pendants together, they reminded me of three stages in painting: a blank canvas (the first pendant), the point where paint is blobbed onto the canvas (the second pendant) and the finished piece (the third pendant.)

Made with 3 imperial jasper pendants and faceted rutilated quartz rounds of various sizes, three strands are attached to two handmade circular components that when worn attract the eye to the delicateness of the collarbone. The silver was oxidized to the darkest shade possible to setoff the transparency of the rutilated quartz and the whiteness of the jasper pendants. The necklace secures in the back with a handmade clasp.

At a total length of 26 inches (27 inches including the third pendant), the shortest wearable length in this necklace can be resized down to 16 inches. This is a very striking piece that can be worn casually or just as easily dressed up.

I'm always experimenting with charms, wire, beads and end clasps, to name a few! Little did I imagine this feisty figure to appear, but here she is . . . another work in progress!

Have a wonderful week everyone!

And for those of you are still *hanging in there* . . . stay strong!

Sooner or later, things will fall back in place!

Egyptian style sterling silver earrings with black onyx and red coral

Ah, These earrings will warm your heart... :) The glass lampwork beads were handmade by me in the flame. Beautiful shades of slate blue, coffee brown, caramel and golden beige are mixed throughout these beads. The beads have been annealed in a kiln to ensure strength and longevity.

The beads were the inspiration for the colors of the gems used in these earrings. Each glass beads is carefully wrapped in fine sterling silver wire from top to bottom. at the very top and bottom center are sparkling tiny faceted citrine rondelles which have also been wrapped in wire.

Dangling in clusters along the bottom of the beads are luscious faceted citrine cubes (2 on either side of each earring), luminesent freshwater keshi pearls, faceted beer quartz rondelles and a faceted beer quartz heart briolette. The gems used in these earrings are all AAA quality.

The earrings hang down about 1.25 inches from the base of the solid sterling silver interchangeable earwires. These earrings are very elegant and chic and feel so good on! YUM! :)

I really wanted to prepare a Christmas inspired project. So I took some green polymer clay, some red polymer clay, 19 gauge wire and I decided to make a Christmas wreath inspired project. The magic ingredient of the project is represented by the glittering snow embossing glitter.

sterling na fine silver, pearls

The focal of this necklace, are the two very large and very stunning Bi Lemon Smoky Quartz marquise briolettes. They are eye clean and with lovely colouring.

Less is more.

I happened to be listening to a series of lectures called "Masterpieces of the Imaginative Mind"- a course about fantasy literature, while constructing these earrings.

One lecture discussed the recurring theme of the Eden Complex in Science Fiction literature. It then struck me as uncanny that the earrings I was making at that very moment were in the form of some paradisal fruit!

Grape-like clusters of freshwater pearls, rhinestones, and seed beads hang from vine-like hammered wire.

These earrings are playful and elegant, their connection to the Eden Complex being merely incidental.
