Wireless Connectivity:

An incredibly complicated geometric abstraction depicting a pair of cell phone towers and the noise they create... in this environmentally personal statement of kinetic energy gone awry.

Envisioning a not too distant day in the future when we all have streaming internet connectivity on our (soon to be) next generation cell phones, I considered the visual impact of all the EMF (electromagnetic frequency) radiation, radio waves and microwaves constantly produced by these devices... and how their signals travel by the millions thru our bodies each moment of every day to somehow magically reach their desired destination.

Painted in extraordinarily rich hues of purple, with shades of green and yellow contrasting against a pure white background. Purples are the hardest colors to accurately reproduce in print format (or on the internet), so this set is available in original format only at this time. The actual vibrancy of this pair is 50% greater than I've been able to show here in this small photo. Feel free to email me for further details.

A bronze plaque in the enclosing wall of St Lawrence's Church commemorating the first wireless exchange over water in 1897 by Marconi and George Kemp, a Cardiff based Post Office engineer. Kemp set up a station on the island of Flat Holm in the Bristol Channel, with Marconi set up at Lavernock Point. After the success of this experiment, they set up a station at Brean Down, transmitting signals over 7.5 miles. As a result of this trial, Marconi went on to establish his Wireless Telegraph and Signal Company.
