Green Lampshade restoration
This was in worse condition than the brown one ... nothing could be reused apart from the wire shape.
I recovered it with cream silk fabric and bright emerald green polyester for the oval panes.
Those ovals then got a coffee coloured lace overlay. All the fabrics have to be stitched on by hand.
I had trouble sourcing green trimmings for this - eventually obtained emerald green braid but the deep fringe just doesn't come in ombre anymore. I did get some in 'cream' but it was so pale - almost white. So I made it a deeper cream with Tea ... then bundled it to ombre dye with green. It wasn't the rayon it was marketed as ... it is polyester so my first attempt was too pale and poly dye was needed ...
I'm not 100% satisfied with the result but it is the best I could do as I'm not set up as a dye-shop !
Originally there were big tassels of the fringing hanging by green beads from the centres of the oval panes - I didn't have enough of the fringe to replace those but I have green glass beads ...
