I attended the River Roar power boat races in Bay City, Michigan, on Sunday, and happened to be near the corner where this driver lost control. He was okay following the roll.

In the first two photos, Tara wipes the ball she pulled out of the dog's mouth, in the second two photos she is teasing the dogs and baiting them with the ball, in the third two she is throwing the ball to them and at the end she is desperate because the dogs left with the ball.
It all started quite by accident, I took the dog's ball and dropped it in the grass to take a picture of it for the topic "Things with teeth", and then our dogs persistently tried to take it from me. Tara heard me scolding them and came to help me, she took the ball from them but then she started wiping it and you can see how it ended in the pictures. I could choose either the ball with the dog's teeth and paws in the frame or in Tara's hands.

Surf N Sea Haleiwa International Open surfing competition. Waves were pushing 30 feet.
I thought we were going to shoot landscapes, so didn't have the right lens. Had to crop a lot. Going to try again tomorrow.

This was the big one!
Got close for some shots and decided to step back when water was surging over where I was standing. Big waves breaking on the rocks today at a cool beach near the National Energy Lab - North Kona Coast, Big Island of Hawaii.
Dunstanburgh Castle, Embleton Bay, Craster, Northumberland
After the "flying naan bread", which incidentally was about 3pm when there was still the last throws of a blue sky to be seen, I was forced further up the beach. The conditions were getting bleaker and tempestuous by the minute. And to add insult to injury, the sea foam was making a mockery of any long exposure shots I had planned for, but since I had cajoled Mrs R this far under the pretence of it being the best view of the castle (hmm), I thought I'd better make an attempt... this is 20 minutes after naan and as good as it got!
In hindsight, I quite like the whiteout sea... it reminds me of John Carpenter's The Fog, and if I was a good wordsmith I might have gone down that road for a decent title, but you can't have everything. Not so sure I'd like to be there on my own after dark with only moonlight for company and that thought in my head.
