"U.P. North" is a purveyor of pasties (pronounced with a short "a") in Allegan. A pastie is a meat pie developed by Cornish miners in the nineteenth century. It became the official food of Michigan's upper peninsula (the "U.P."). People who live in "da U.P." talk funny and are known as "Yoopers" ("U P ers" - get it?). Tuesday mornings with J&B obviously involve watching the garbage men come by & J frantically shouting after the garbage men as they very sadly have to leave.
Just experimenting around with my new wide angle lens-a Tokina 11-17mm f2.8, I love it so very much. It's my first non-nikon lens and I have to say that I'm very pleased with the quality.
