into my kitchen.

Who wants tea and who wants coffee?

And who wants home-made coconut cake? Ooops, sorry - I don't have that.

Will grocery store cookies be OK? ;-)

Isn't this kitchen fabulous? I love complementary colors, especially gradations of red and green.

It's the Crown Heights, Brooklyn home of couple Jordan Provost (a photographer and letterpress printer) and Jason Wong (a graphic designer) of letterpress enormous champion.

Wall color is Sweet Caroline by Benjamin Moore. Cabinets and counter tops are from Ikea. In the bottom left of the photo is a coal safe, a pre-war detail that the couple loves. (They now use it for gardening supplies.). The insulated coffee pot was found in a flea market in Germany.

For the Whispery White Wednesday group.

This week's theme is white kitchens or white things in the kitchen.

I think these shots cover both!

(Can you tell I like to put stuff on the walls?)

Oh, oh! Look. How. Perfect. The farmhouse sink, the white cabinets, the seaglass-blue tile, the painted floors. Too bad I can’t afford to hire White House interior designer Michael S. Smith to decorate my kitchen. Um, Michelle? Maybe there's room in your budget for me?

The fireclay kitchen sink and fixtures in this Santa Monica home are from Smith's Loft collection for Kallista. Subway tile from Ann Sacks. Wallpaper is ‘Praline Bombay,’ by Elizabeth Dow.

This kitchen combines classic, modern, and cottage styles to great effect: you have the timeless black-and-white palette, the sleek countertops, stainless steel appliances, and white subway tile, and the charm of open shelves, ladder-back chairs, and yellow dishes. I like the mix of open shelving and cabinets, too -- 'cause you don't always want everyone seeing your business, you know?

I realized I've never posted a kitchen pic in my house pic set. Here it is! The cabinets used to be dark dark brown, what a coat of white paint can do! Vintage kitchen goods all around! Oh how you would love to peek into these cupboards full of vintage goodness! Plus a couple of artgoodies tea towels and some great art pieces finish off the look!

A space for everything! Love the mix of warm and cool tones, the gray-blue tile, the nickel drawer pulls, and that farmhouse sink, of course.

A mix of shimmery materials keeps things bright in this sea-inspired white kitchen. To make the most of the natural light, the palette is a play of white tones on the ship-lap (wide horizontal) siding, cabinetry, crown molding, ceiling, sink, and the island’s Michelangelo marble. The hardwood floors and mahogany cabinets installed on the periphery add a warm, natural contrast.

Pic found on Foxgloves, Fabric and Folly blog. I like the open shelving, the glass front cabinets, the butcher block counter top, the big glass canisters on the counter, and the relaxed feel of the horizontal boards.

Droooooooool.

Interior designer Carl D'Aquino and architect Francine Monaco used a swath of blue glass tile ('Azure' by Glacier, available at Town & Country Flooring) in this seaside New Jersey kitchen. The walnut barstools are by Norman Cherner; the Cicatrice de Luxe chandelier is by Philippe Starck for Flos.

Using blue was a way of "making the house look really beachy without having lots of shells and coral and nautical things," said one of the owners.

The kitchen counters are made of Lavastone, a natural material with a nearly indestructible glaze (see pyrolave.com). The light blue color complements the much darker blue of the glass tile.

The stove is by Viking; cabinets are from St. Charles Kitchens of New York, Inc. (stcharlesofnewyork.com); flooring is from tncflooring.com.

Cheerful, versatile, and highly functional -- I love the mix of open shelves and glass-fronted cabinets, and the shot of yellow introduced through the servingware. Another great feature? The undermount sink. It looks gorgeous and means easier clean-up, too.

It's hard to tell in this photo, but the columns flanking the oven are covered in minuscule subway tiles, which create a shimmery effect. To make the most of the natural light, the designer chose a palette of white tones for the ship-lap (wide horizontal) siding, cabinetry, crown molding, ceiling, sink, and the island’s Michelangelo marble. The hardwood floors and mahogany cabinets installed on the periphery add a warm, natural contrast.

When Scott Currie bought his 1899 Southampton home, the kitchen had a dark tile floor and an acoustic-tile ceiling. The remodeled space features white subway tile, a stainless steel Viking range and oven, and a Rohl apron sink (Original Single-Bowl Fireclay model, rohlhome.com) with Georgian Kitchen brass sink fittings by Samuel Heath & Sons.

Our almost finished white vintage kitchen with inset cabinets

This kitchen has come a long way since we bought our home, DIY is an understatement. The cabinets and the back splash being the newest additions that quite honestly took a week out of our lives we will never get back.

I'd hang out all day in this bright, airy Long Island kitchen designed by Jacqueline Derrey Segura. She added the pressed tin ceiling and painted the walls Benjamin Moore's Italian Ice Green and the cabinets and trim Ivory White, also by Benjamin Moore. The octagonal table is from John Rosselli; chandelier is from Treillage; dining chairs and slipcovers from Homer. Bar stools are covered in Pierre Frey's Villiers fabric. The yellow Chinese vase on the island is from H Groome.

White Kitchen

1 ambient + 2 Flash (YN560III)

1 pointed at ceiling just in front of camera.

1 in DR camera left pointed at wall/ceiling.

Blended in Photoshop. Extensive color correcting using Lumenzia plugin in PS. Fixed a crooked blind in the right window -

Back to LR - gave the colors a little pop and fixed color balance issues I missed in PS.

I find my raw shots have an awful lot of color crap - aka - blues and yellows drifting throughout the highlights and shadows.

a shot of the backsplash that shows its shininess.

the cabinets are original to the 1950's house.

Late afternoon shadows in the kitchen.

I'm just back from visiting June and Tammi, and I am planning to catch up with everyone tonight! Sorry I'm so far behind on my comments!

I like my black and white kitchen!

heh-heh. a little

whispery-white-wednesday humor :))

kitchen is the theme.

i hope my photo is whispery ...

We like to let architectural details speak for themselves. So often we see gratuitous ornamentation. Details for the sake of details. This kitchen was all about embracing the beauty of simplicity.

Another view of an Edina kitchen we recently completed. The corner windows allow for a beautiful view of the back yard, and for the morning sun to bath the kitchen in light.
