The sliced ‪#‎tomatoes‬ and sliced ‪#‎avocado‬ were seasoned with ‪#‎garlic‬ powder and black pepper topped with a couple of teaspoons of ‪#‎vegenaise‬. It is taking me longer to write this caption than to make this meal. I'm all about making things easy, but I was laughed at and belittled on my last picture of a meal for "not being creative" and using ‪#‎raw‬ carrots. I guess some vegans feel they are supposed to spend more time cooking complex dishes rather than eating simple raw foods. Oh, yes, I was also belittled by for using ‪#‎MightyGreens‬, which contains about three times more nutrition than a ‪#‎kale‬ ‪#‎smoothie‬ but takes only ten seconds to make with just rinsing out my glass for cleanup. For all you vegans out there who have hours to spend in the kitchen, more power to you, but I don't have the time and could care less about competing with you for the prettiest meal. ‪#‎greensuperfood‬ ‪#‎growyouown‬ ‪#‎garden‬ ‪#‎gardening‬ ‪#‎f4f‬ ‪#‎like4like‬ ‪#‎wheatgrass‬ ‪#‎wheatgrasspowder‬ ‪#‎antioxidants‬ ‪#‎detox‬ ‪#‎marathon‬ ‪#‎triathlete‬ ‪#‎triathlon‬ ‪#‎foodie‬

Look at all the wheatgrass! Aren't we super healthy

Slender wheatgrass (aka Elymus trachycaulus) is common along the ridge of the Bridger Range on steep west and east facing slopes. The Bridger Ridge is mostly calcareous. This site is at the headwaters of Middle Cottonwood Creek just below Saddle Peak in a subalpine dry meadow.

Agropyron latiglume and Elymus violaceus (Hornem.) Böcher ex J. Feilberg refer to high elevation forms on calcareous substrates that have mostly 3-veined glumes with asymmetric margins and lemmas with 0.5-3 mm long awns. Lower elevation forms have glumes with three or more veins, symmetric margins, and awns absent or up to 40 mm long. Such morphologies and altitudes, as seen in the above photo of +3-veined symmetric and asymmetric glumes from a population at subalpine elevations, do not covary among Montana or western North American specimens.

Liver Flush Drink.

Contents Unknown. But something that tasted spicy and kind of weird. Just down it, and let the toxins release.

A smaller plant, but nicely isolated.

Before we had a greenhouse, we grew wheat grass and micro greens during the preseason.

A local produce market with fresh hot bread & buns and a not so common Wheat Grass drink... though I tried it, it's something I would not try again.

Wheatgrass, very green indeed, at Crussh, the local juice and coffee bar. Snapped while waiting for the morning cappuccino fix. Today was somewhat rushed and photo opportunities few and far between.

The clasping auricles are similar but perhaps pigmented more purplish in thickspike wheatgrass at this site.

The summer following a fire, Elymus cinereus along with Elymus elymoids, Agropyron dasystachyum, and Poa secunda (and not necessarily Bromus tectorum) respond very well. Here a coyote seems to want to hang out around the taller bunches of Elymus cinereus. [rd28 between pbf and mfc.]
