Lensbaby Composer Pro Double Glass Optic. 28/6/12

Western wheatgrass intermingles with thickspike wheatgrass (Agropyron dasystachyum) along the sides of the crop fields. Western wheatgrass tends to be glaucous (bluegree) whereas thickspike wheatgrass tends to be more bright green. This local difference is not absolute even at this site.

We now have 3 or 4 trays going at once. Drinking about 3 or 4 (coincidence) oz./day.

Pick up some wheatgrass for your pets—and yourself-- from Greener Pastures.

Although inhabiting a very broad elevational gradient, slender wheatgrass is ecologically very confined to disturbed settings (the large "oat grass" glumes are characteristic of slender wheatgrass).

Mighty Greens contains the two most nutrient-dense leafy veggies known to mankind, #wheatgrass and #alfalfa, along with #hemp #protein and stevia for a wonderful flavor just the way it is or added to #greenjuice or #smoothies.

Pines' #MightyGreens contains the ONLY Non-GMO Project Verified Alfalfa current available anywhere!

NOTE: The Mighty Greens brand was registered as a trademark nearly 20 years ago by Pines, the original green superfood company. Recently, another company is apparently mixing our powder with water and some not-too-nutritious vegetable juices and is selling it in a plastic bottle at much higher price per serving. Although we appreciate their promoting our brand, they do not have our permission and are in violation of US Federal trademark law.

The dried wheatgrass ends up in this room where it is made into a powder, then compressed into pellets and then put into pharmaceutical bags for storage at below freezing temperatures.

Grown to the right height for making wheatgrass juice; ready to be harvested. More info at ligiapop.com

A local produce market with fresh hot bread & buns and a not so common Wheat Grass drink... though I tried it, it's something I would not try again.

Spikelets have their broad side against the stem and are 11-30 mm long, 3-15-flowered and unawned. Glumes are placed side by side.

Probably, Slender wheatgrass (Elymus trachycaulus syn. Agropyron trachycaulum), Grass family (Poaceae).

Some of my wheatgrass, grown entirely hydroponicly. No medium was used, only mesh baskets and nutrient.

We grow our own wheatgrass, and juice it. This superfood is rich in vitamins and minerals and enzymes, but most importantly it is full of chlorophyll. The structure of hemoglobin and chlorophyll are virtually identical, the difference being instead of a magnesium core, we have an iron core. What's even more surprising is that we believe the body can convert from one to the other. Science disagrees however, but I think this little trick defies our understanding. Anyway, we believe in the detox and benefits of wheatgrass juice.

My friend and I also went to a Chipotle-sponsored event called Cultivate, also in Lincoln Park. www.chipotle.com/en-US/html/cultivate.html

There was food, beer, live music, live cooking, and merchandise. It was a really cool, informative event - money well spent by the sponor.

Leaves are 4-8 mm wide, hairless or nearly so and with rough to touch margins.

Western wheatgrass is one of the most common native grasses in steppe vegetation of Montana and apparently thrives in overstocked areas. A spreading rhizomatous growth habit, leaves and stems that are usually bluegreen, and glumes that narrowly attenuate into a sharp curved tip are distinctions of this native grass species. This site lies long the trail at the north end of Burke Park, Bozeman, Montana.

This tastes as grassgreen as it looks, but with some lemon and ginger it's quite refreshing. Get the recipe here: trulyjuly.wordpress.com/2017/07/27/recipe-wheatgrass-smoo....
