Today's story and sketch"by me", It was a very beautiful late morning in the Man Cave, I was listening to the Live Cream CD, enjoying an ice cold "O'Doul's, a great tasting non alcoholic beer, that will never dull your lighting quick reflexes, if you happen to be endowed with lighting quick reflexes, like myself, consider yourself lucky, if you are that lucky, you could become a member of the "MCPPOE", Man Cave Posse Protectors Of Earth society, Suddenly the music went silent and was interrupted by the unmistakable sound of Wedding Bells, which could only be the one of the over fifty intergalactic emergency alerts in the Man Cave with the sound of bells, it is the "MSA" Missing Spouse Alarm. On any normal day I would pay little attention to the "MSA" I would answer, get the details and put it in the low priority pile, to later delegate to a Rookie "MCPPOTG" Man Cave Posse Protectors Of The Galaxy space cadet. But this call was from Big Sid The Arm Wrecker, head of the Martian Arm Wrecker Syndicate, "MAWS", concerning his missing centerfold bride Gloria. Gloria was miss June in the "WSM" Wetplanet Sportfishing Magazine. Above you can see Cosmo left the Man Cave in such a hurry he left without his hat and Camera, but has located Gloria on Mars, stuck in a thicket of Dead Martian Bramble Bushes, twenty miles from the "MAWS" headquarters, until next time taa ta the Rod Blog.

River rafting is very popular on the White Salmon River, with several rafting companies taking trips daily in the summer in the Husum and BZ Corners area of southern Washington. Never heard of Husum or BZ? well, I grew up there and we used to say, don't blink or you will miss it as you drive by. We played by the river and jumped in the freezing cold glacial melt water in the summers, having contests to see who could stay in the longest without turning blue. A fave was jumping off the big old bridge in Husum, landing about where this raft is, and we joked that it was so cold that you would hit and bounce, and run over the surface back to shore. Not true, of course... but hey, we did not have wet suits like all these rafters do! There are lots of rafting companies in the valley now... and lots of wet suits! Kayackers also enjoy the excitement... especially the Husum Falls, which these rafts full of people just finished going over with lots of squeals. Many of the riders celebrated the falls by getting out here and coming up to jump off the bridge!

Fun... good ol summer fun but greatly upgraded since I was a kid. Now our version was to make a driftwood raft and send it off with an old doll on it!

(see the last horse shot for the story) and furthermore, I have a lot to think about regarding the camera! I am sure you will be the first to know when things are finally moving in a new direction.
