On my way to do some work.

Late night, so I will catch up tomorrow.

Part of the downtown Los Angeles, CA photo walk to capture the historic buildings.

This major hotel is across the street from where I live and the photo below is just up the street from here.

Daniel Scotten built a four-story business block between Washington and Shelby that was rented to a grocery company that soon failed. He then converted it into the Cadillac Hotel in 1888; bought and razed the Antisdel House next to it; and built an addition to the hotel. By 1891, the Cadillac Hotel covered the entire block fronting on Michigan between Washington and Shelby.

It became one of the finest hotels in the city. ..

The storied Book-Cadillac's doors closed in 1984, 60 years after they had first opened.

While taking photographing the hotel, the concierge asked me to stop taking photos as professionals were not allowed to take pictures :D

10 months old. And yes, it's starting to look rather like Fall here after a hot dry summer.

Didn’t stay here, but did have brunch once

The bottom of this photo is the elevator and the top is the floor to our room at the Westin Hotel, Montreal. A friend used to say, "there are photo ops all around us." This is a nice example of his mantra. I took this with an extremely wide angle lens and at that had to lie on my back to get it all in.

We arrived at our Hotel in Montreal late so the sky light was black which helped the exposure of the image. However, just as I got into position and was lying on my back, the lobby area got busy. "Oh well", I thought, "everyone can tell what I am doing". To that end, all kindly and without a word, got out of the way.

Bert671 and I revisited the cross at the Westin Chapel and did some other takes. Since I already got shots of the cross, I decided to put myself in the shot.

Loved the repeating pattern of balconies on the gently curving facades of the hotel

Compare this to the previous shot, and you'll see that windows were blown out in all 360º of the tower including the elevator shaft for The Sundial.
