Maybe I have too literally interpreted this weeks challenge ;-)
Week #4, topic #4 #cam underfoot as per Group #52of2017 - 52 things I want to photograph in 2017"
Tell A Story: Mirror. This is how my brain feels this week. Spinning out of control. #Dogwood2017 #Dogwood2017Week4 #Dogwood52week4
I displayed the image on my laptop with a mirror at 90 degrees. They say basket weaving can be quite calming.

2017 has been quite the year of self-discovery (already!). As much as I have been struggling with prompts week-to-week, the stupid prompt keeps coming to fruition in my everyday life - teaching me wonderful things. The prompt of "broken down" was going to be easy, in my eyes. I loved taking pictures of old, abandoned places.
As I was about to give up, I realized from reading another chapter in this book, "Captivating," that I need to be vulnerable and let it be known that I do not have it all together. I'm constantly tired each and every day pretending like I'm great. I have wounds, they hurt. However, I'm learning that the only way things can heal is if you air them out. So here's to me - I am broken down.
Week 4 is "homeplace". This is a photo of our living room / dining room shot this afternoon thru a 10.5mm fisheye lens. It's also a 5 frame HDR to overcome contrasty lighting caused by the sunshine from the window.
I'm not sure if I'm done with this - the cat could use further chin definition, but I like it so far. The canvas is 7" square. I bought three of these from TJ Maxx's (discount home goods) sale bin for $7 and gessoed over the original prints. (painting based on a photo by xmoonbloom at Etsy.com)
I wasn't really happy with last weeks photo but this was my original intention for a spoon flower.
I used a computer monitor to backlight plastic spoons with polarised light, then a circular polariser filter on the lens to achieve this effect.

The Sandusky Fire Department demonstrates an ice rescue at the Sandusky Sailing Club on Sunday, Feb. 8, 2015. The demonstrations give firefighters more practice and show the public how ice rescues are handled.
My daughter - once again I was hungry for texture and a finish with just a twist #dogwood52 #dogwoodweek4 #Portrait
