I live in flat land on the muddy River Humber and this is about the most spectacular view around. Landscapes, without travelling for hours, are going to be challenging, to say the least and certainly not with the wow factor, particularly when our weather seems to be mostly cloud and rain - whatever time of year.

As always, this shot has many levels. My "vineyard" which is tiny teeny -- 250 vines, is barren right now and faces east. But the sunset to the West was so amazing it reflected back. When the leaves fill in for season 2 but more likely 3, we lose our view of the valley. It is a true juxtaposition. I am excited about this series as it forces me to pay attention to what is happening around me in my own backyard.
Traditional LandscapeThis is entrance to the High Park in Toronto (Etobicoke). Weather was wet and humid, 9 Jan 2016. Added a bit of HDR. Dogwood52 Week2 - landscape
So since I started this class I decided I would do one little drawing-sketch everyday, I found it helps me start the day with good mood. I actually enjoy doing it, and I want to thank you Sarah, because this class has really been an inspiration to me. The journal starts on July 10th and you can see the whole series if you want to in my facebook page: sara palacios illustrations :)

Bordeaux, "the sleeping beauty" awoke and metamorphoses. It is impressive to see whole districts shaved and rebuilt to nine in a very short time. The transformation began in the early 2000s with the arrival of the Tramway.
This photo taken in the district of Bacalan shows the "modern garage", a very active associative place that managed to not disappear. All around has been transformed. This building was built to make the first planes (that's what I was told).
It shows the cohabitation between the old and the modern, the change (transition) between two worlds: before and after the Internet revolution.
A few steps away is the "wine city", a place of discovery of the cultures of wine where one can meet the practice of the latest technologies. And the bridge Chaban Delmas, also recent work, with high technology ...

We had rain last night and this is the result this morning. I have added a tiny bit of brush work to the capture.
I've done a lot of reflecting already this year upon my life and the changes that lay in store. Changes that I want to see made and changes that life will inevitably throw at me. As I struggled with how to even begin to photograph my 2017 goals, I opened my back door and watched my cat roam out. Ansel (named after Ansel Adams) wasn't afraid of the cold or what was out there. He merely trusted that he would figure it out. The shadows and light that cast on this eve really made me think about how I need to take that first step out into the unknown. It can be a beautiful journey, if I just trust.
