Thanks to Uncle Sam this weed grows abundantly in my county in Indiana! This is called Ditch Weed and in World War II the U.S. government paid farmers in my area to grow this weed for rope. It grows along ditches and fields. I call it the bad weed because it is mixed into marijuana. As far as I know it has no medicinal value but I've been told it does show up on drug tests.
This little pest is the only one of it's kind in our yard. I was curious if I could photograph it using the macro setting of our camera. It turned out better than I had expected!
