Thong weed was growing all over the shore and made mini slimy forests which the fish were hiding in. These huge fronds grow in February and May and look like spagetti. Before they have grown small button-like thalli can be seen. Each plants can live for 2-3 years and reproduce once before dying. They die off in winter.
