The winning and highly-commended images from the eighth International Wedding Photography Of The Year Awards have been announced with the impressive finalists showcasing the very best from this demanding photography genre.
2024’s edition drew over 2,000 entries submitted by 450 photographers from 63 countries and the awards state that the competition exists to “support, reward, celebrate and promote exceptional wedding photography worldwide” !

Today is Gerry and my 47th wedding anniversary and I want to thank him for choosing me and living a full and happy life together. Obviously, this is not my photo and I cannot get the photographer's permission because sadly he is no longer alive. However, I have taken many photos of this capture which is part of a collage that is hanging in my entrance and then worked on straightening it, getting rid of the dust and scratches, and generally working at getting it into as good a quality photo as I could. It was a fun challenge and it is a wonderful photo.

Cretan wedding the traditional way, 2nd photo. Traditional weddings in Crete have at least 800 guests and organized in a central square of the village. The guy in the photo is a friend of the broom and he is one of the dancers of the dancing group. In Crete there are many traditional dancing groups and in every occasion they go dancing wearing the old traditional Cretan costumes
