Rome Exhibition: Baroque Underworld. Vice And Destitution In Rome

 

Date(s): 17/10/14 - 18/01/15. Venue: Villa Medici, Viale della Trinità dei Monti 1, 00187 Rome, Italy.

There is still time to visit the 'The Baroque Underworld', which is being hosted by the Accademia di Francia (French Academy) at the Villa Medici until the 18th January 2015. The exhibition is dedicated to the dark side and underclasses of Roman baroque society, who created an astounding display of artistic inventiveness and paradoxes. There are more than 50 pieces on show, all of which originate from Rome during the first part of the 17th century and display the neglected facet of Rome’s artistic creativeness. The exhibition has been created in collaboration with the Petit Palais, Musée des Beaux-Arts de la Ville de Paris and it will move to this museum in February 2015.

Opening hours

Tuesday to Sunday (closed on Mondays): 10:00am to 7:00pm (last admission 6:30pm)

Tickets

12 Euros (including a guided tours of Villa Medici and its gardens)

Free admission on Thursdays 5:00pm to 7:00pm
