A Cidade homenageia sua Padroeira, Nossa Senhora do Monte Serrat no dia 8 de setembro.
Várias são as histórias que se contam da santa milagrosa. Foi D. Francisco de Souza, governador geral do Brasil quem, em 1602, ordenou construir a Capela do Monte Serrat e doou a imagem de Nossa Senhora à Ordem de São Bento, que passou a administrar o santuário.
O primeiro e grande milagre a ela atribuído teria acontecido durante a invasão do pirata holandês Joris Van Spilbergen à costa santista, em fevereiro de 1615. Para fugir dos corsários, que incendiaram vários pontos da Vila de Santos, boa parte da população, especialmente mulheres e crianças, refugiou-se no Monte Serrat.
Desesperados, os habitantes rezaram à Virgem do Monte, para que os protegesse. Pouco tempo depois, o caminho por onde avançavam os piratas desmoronou, soterrando a maioria, enquanto os restantes voltaram apressadamente para os navios, a fim de deixar a barra.
Por meio de lei sancionada pelo então prefeito Antônio Feliciano, em 1954, Nossa Senhora do Monte Serrat foi escolhida como Padroeira de Santos, coroada em cerimônia realizada em 8 de setembro de 1955.

Template (PSD) per la gara GT. Non è stato completato a livello di scrittura codice (peccato!). Può essere comunque una buona fonte di ispirazione (spero). Nonostante l'idea iniziale fosse quella di fare un template per un ristorante, alla fine è venuto fuori una grafica da albergo ma che si adatta senza problemi anche ad un ristorante. Lo stile che avevo scelto era quello nipponico :P!

Gagarin designed the new web site for the Fulbright Commission in Iceland. Gagarin provided consultation regarding the information architecture and is responsible for the implementation of the content management system Expression Engine. The web opened in June 2010.
Being the Publicity Coordinator on the Alexander Mackenzie High School DECA Chapter 2004-2005, I was responsible for creating a website, logo, and the banner seen on the title page. The goal was to create an information portal for students interested in joining DECA and existing member. The colour scheme, resembling the official high school colour scheme was developed and maintained throughout online and print material.
