Before, each Last.fm item was displayed in full, which means a long session of work would pollute the lifestream with fairly useless entries.
Now Last.fm items which are next to each other are grouped together and hidden with Javascript - the data is there, but only people who actually want to see it have to, and the more interesting items aren't pushed so far off the page.
This took a bit of doing, I ended up with a recursive function which calls the database until a set number of parent items are met - regardless of how many tracks are nested together. You can see the implementation on Github.

It's hard to envision without content there in the blue area (what I call the "showcase"), and I'm a little worried there's no place for some intro text "Jotlet is...". Maybe I'll stick it between the showcase and the 3 columns. I hate to push Sign Up down any further, though...
